The Griddy became one of the most recognizable goal celebrations in EA Sports FC, but its availability has changed in EA FC 27.
In previous games, players could perform the Griddy after scoring by holding R2 or RT and flicking the Right Stick upward twice. In FC 27, however, that input no longer reliably triggers the classic Griddy celebration.
Can You Do the Griddy in EA FC 27?
At launch, the classic Griddy — previously tied to the Eyes and Arms celebration — isn't available as a universal manual celebration like it was in previous EA FC games.
The old Griddy input has been reassigned to another celebration, so players returning from FC 26 shouldn't expect the same button combination to produce the Griddy.
What Was the Old Griddy Control?
In previous EA FC titles, the Griddy was performed with the following controls:

Because EA can change which celebrations are available between games, the most reliable way to check the current celebration controls is through the game itself.
- Pause the match.
- Open Settings.
- Select Celebrations.
- Check the available celebration inputs.
This menu shows the celebrations currently available in your version of FC 27 and their correct button combinations.
How to Skip a Celebration in EA FC 27
If you want to restart the match immediately after scoring, you can skip the celebration:
- PlayStation: Press L1 + R1.
- Xbox: Press LB + RB.
What Is the Griddy?
The Griddy originated in American football and was created by Allen Davis before becoming widely associated with players including Ja'Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson.
The celebration later spread across sports and became especially popular in football games through FIFA and EA Sports FC. Its recognizable movement includes rhythmic footwork and the famous “goggles” gesture around the eyes.
Will the Griddy Return to EA FC 27?
It's possible that EA could make the celebration available later through an unlock, seasonal reward, or other Ultimate Team content. Celebrations can be added, removed, or made unlockable during the EA FC cycle.
For now, however, players should check the in-game Celebrations menu rather than relying on the old FC 26 Griddy button combination.
