Destiny 2's Moments of Triumph Update Brings Fan Favorite Changes

Moments of Triumph will be Destiny 2’s last content update before support for the game officially ends. Bungie is looking to bring some of the most highly requested features that fans have been asking. With these upcoming changes to the sandbox, new players can still jump right into the game, even if there will be no more new content. Here are all of the changes in Destiny 2’s sandbox before the total end of its content cycle.

Sandbox Changes

The following subclasses will be receiving a new Aspect:

  • Solar Hunter: Crackshot
  • Void Warlock: Soul Siphon
  • Solar Titan: Shieldburst

Void Hunters will receive a new melee ability called Phantom Surge. All Strand classes will be able to use the new Slicewire Grenade and Shatter Grenade for Stasis.

Light and Dark subclasses will also be given updates to be more viable, such as the Mindspun Invocation gaining more interactions with Threadling Grenade, Ward of Dawn with a total rework on its functions, Trapper Ambush gaining new effects and more.

Exotic Gear Updates

All Exotic armors earned since The Edge of Fate launched will be automatically upgraded to have Tier 5 stats. Not only that, Bungie has teased giving certain Exotic armors a balance pass for their traits, such as double Nova Bombs in a single cast and new Catalysts for Exotic weapons.

Finally, for the fashion lovers, Exotic armor can now be transmogged with Common to Legendary armor ornaments.

Core Activity Updates

The Portal has been a controversial change to Destiny 2. With the final update, the Director will be making a full return with destinations restored. The Portal will also be a UI element in the Destinations map for access to core activities like Strikes, Crucible, Gambit and Raids.

Pantheon 2.0 will now be a permanent game mode for players looking to challenge themselves against the system’s greatest bosses. This mode will slowly roll out its features from June 9 to June 16, starting from a single roster of bosses to the full gauntlet of raid boss encounters.

Loot from all Destinations, Dungeons, and Raids will be updated to reach Tier parity, set bonuses, and additional perks in their perk pool to make them worthy of the current sandbox, with bonus loot drops with the return of Weekly Featured Dungeons and Raids.

Portal activities will still be available to play, with updates to its difficulty system to make it more fun and accessible, while still being the most rewarding experience. Each Portal experience will also be given expanded weapons and armor rewards, from PvE Ops to Crucible and Gambit Ops.

New Crucible Modes and Tiered Loot

Three new game modes for Crucible will be added for this update:

  • Playlist - Arena: Gunplay-oriented game mode hearkening back to Bungie’s older games
  • Private Matches – Glass Cannon: Uses Destiny 1’s PvP balancing as a reference
  • Private Matches – Software: Mayhem-like game mode with abilities only

Iron Banner will now be available every 4 weeks, and Trials of Osiris will be available on weekends during non-IB weeks. Both modes and Competitive will also have tiered loot to earn.

Sparrow Racing League Returns

SRL has been one of the most popular non-core activities in Destiny 1. Destiny 2 now seeks to end with a bang with the return of SRL, featuring new armor with set bonuses, weapons and even Sparrow horns to chase by playing.
