Matterspark Chests
When you attempt to unlock Matterspark Chests, you'll receive a message saying, Requires highly concentrated unknown energy. You'll encounter three different Matterspark chest in the game. For the first, you'll need to use your ball form's attacks to charge the batteries and remove the force fields blocking the chest. When attempting to unlock these types of chests, you'll receive a prompt saying, Requires upgraded Fallen tech. You'll need the Relocator and its Level 2 upgrade. You can acquire both in the Exile's Accord Strangelet quest chain.
Mattermorph Chests
When you attempt to open these chests, you'll receive a message saying, Requires undiscovered technology. These types of chests will require the Mattermorph upgrade to unlock them. To get the upgrade, you'll need to complete both the Exile's Accord Strangelet and the Central Academy Strangelet quest chains. Then start the Outer Steppe's Strangelet quest, where you return to the starting area of the campaign. The quest will give you the Mattermorph upgrade.
