What are Renegade Abilities in Destiny 2 Renegades

Renegade Abilities are a new category of tools that are separate from your Guardian's subclass abilities. They're not a replacement for your subclass but a separate bonus system to give your Guardian buffs in the Lawless Frontier activity.

The Renegade Abilities can only be used in the Lawless Frontier activity and the Renegades campaign. They can't be used in general activities such as raids and older dungeons.

How to Unlock Renegade Abilities in Destiny 2 Renegades

Unlocking each Renegade Ability is pretty straightforward. At the start of the Renegades campaign, you can unlock a few of the abilities through progression.

For the remaining abilities, you need to go to one of the three Syndicates in the game to acquire them. Here's what you need to do:

  • Pledge to a Syndicate at the Tharsis Outpost
  • Complete Jobs or Contracts for your Syndicate.
  • Contribute Dark Matter Ingots to your Syndicate War Chest

Completing jobs and contributing Dark Matter Ingots will increase your Reputation Rank. Quartermaster will offer you the abilities. Here are all the Syndicates in Destiny 2 Renegades and which Renegade Abilities they offer.
