Valve has set many restrictions when it comes to Ranked mode. First, unlocking the mode requires a total of 50 standard matches completed before jumping into Ranked. Next, players must go through 7 competitive matches first before attaining a new rank, regardless of whether they’re all wins or losses. Ranked mode will only have solo queueing, meaning that both teams will be playing with randoms.

This mode currently has 11 ranking tiers and every player’s ranks will be updated every week, so the climb to the top will take a while.
