All Dark and Darker Extract Locations: How to Escape Each Map

Escaping in Dark and Darker should be one of the main goals of any adventurer, aside from running and looting everything on the map. However, many players have a hard time extracting because they either don’t know how to, or they don’t know where the exits are situated. In other situations, some gamers will have beaten others to the finish line, leaving those remaining trapped within the dungeon.

All Dark and Darker Extraction Methods

Escaping Dark and Darker dungeons is very simple, but finding the location of the exits will be the real challenge. These exits usually have a specific condition that needs to be satisfied before gamers can use them to leave the current dungeon. Some can only be used once, and some can only be used by one player. Exits can also be static or can spawn in random places. Here are all the extraction methods in Dark and Darker:

• Stairs: These exits are marked on the minimap and will have blue torches when they are open. However, they can only be used by one person and will only open later in the round. Once someone uses an exit, the entrance will collapse, and rubble will block the route, making it impossible for others to use. While they are closed, a gate will block the stairs, and the torches will be unlit.
• Boats: Rafts are only available on the Ice Caverns map. This type of exit appears every few minutes and can be used by multiple people simultaneously. The boat will be marked in the minimap and have a static location where they spawn. The ship is a moving extraction method, so if you can’t get on them as they move, you will have to wait for the next one.
• Elevators: These lifts can be used multiple times, taking one person or multiple simultaneously. However, the team elevator in the Ice Caverns can only be used once, so if your team plans to use that, make sure you can secure it. Both solo and team lifts will be marked on the minimap. A gate will block solo elevators until near the end of the run. Meanwhile, the team elevator will respawn throughout the game and require you to operate a lever to go up.
• Ropes: Ropes can be found in specific locations in either dungeon and used multiple times after respawning. They are single use exits, meaning only one person can use them simultaneously.
• Portals: Portals were initially the only way to get out of dungeons. However, they have been made scarcer after recent updates. These portals are not marked in the minimap and will only activate towards the end of the run. You can find these exits by looking for rooms with blue cracked stones on the ground while activated or with gray cracked stones while inactive. Portals can only be used occasionally, but they will have three charges.

Each map will have varying numbers of exit methods and located in different areas. Fortunately, most are static, so their places are usually fixed. However, if they randomly spawn, they will appear in the same type of room if not in the same spot. Here are all the Extraction Locations in Dark and Darker:

Note: Several rooms will separate each map, so to help players figure out where they are, we will be numbering each area from Room 1, Room 2, and onwards, starting from the top left corner to the bottom correct zone. For example:

Ice Cavern Extraction Locations

• Room 1 Stairs: Found on the lower left side of the room.
• Room 3 Stairs: Found on the upper left corner of the room.
• Room 4 Group Elevator: Found in the middle of the room (guarded by a mini-boss)
• Room 6 Boat: Found on the leftmost side of the room (guarded by two mini-bosses)
• Room 9 Stairs: Found on the lower left corner of the room
• Room 12 Stairs: Found on the leftmost pillar of the room
• Room 16 Stairs: Found on the upper left corner of the room
• Room 17 Stairs: Found on the lower left corner of the room
• Room 19 Stairs: Found on the top right corner of the room
• Room 20 Boat: Found on the right-most side of the room
• Room 23 Stairs: Found on the lower right passage connecting this room to Room 24

Goblin Cave Extraction Locations

• Room 2 Rope: Found on the upper right corner of the room
• Room 4 Stairs: Found on the bottommost side of the room
• Room 6 Possible Portal: Can spawn on the lower left side of the room</strong >

• Room 12 Stairs: Found on the topmost side of the room
• Room 13 Group Elevator: Found in the middle of the room

• Room 20 Rope: Found on the right-most side of the room
• Room 22 Stairs: Found on the top right corner of the room
• Room 23 & 24 Rope: Found on the bottom passage connecting the two rooms

Forgotten Castle Extraction Locations

This area has six variations, so the location of each exit will change depending on the map type. To help players figure out where they are, we will describe each map with a distinct layout that can help gamers identify the version. Here are the Extraction Locations in the Forgotten Castle:

Forgotten Castle 1 (Summoning Circle Layout in the Center of the Map)

• Room 1 Portal: Found on the bottom left area before the passage connecting to Room 6
• Room 3 Stairs: Found on the bottom right passage leading to Room 4
• Room 5 Stairs: Found on the bottom left side before entering Room 10
• Room 15 Portal: Found on the center of the left side of the room
• Room 17 Stairs: Found on the bottom right corridor connecting Rooms 17 to 18 and 22.
• Room 21 Portal: Found on the top left side of the room after entering from Room 16
• Room 23 Portal: Found in the upper center side of the room
• Room 25 Stairs: Found in the upper side of the center of the room

Forgotten Castle 2 (A room with five pillars on each side will be at the center of the map with a room with a maze-like layout on its left)

• Room 2 Stairs: Found on the bottom side of the room
• Room 6 Portal: Found in the middle of the room
• Room 8 Portal: Found in the upper side of the center room in between the pillars
• Room 17 Stairs: Found on the upper right corner of the room before the passage to Room 18
• Room 21 Portal: Found on the bottom left corner of the room
• Room 22 Stairs: Found on the bottom right corner of the room before the passage to Room 23

Forgotten Castle 3 (The room with the maze-like layout will now be on the uppermost center of the map.)

• Room 1 Portal: Found on the upper left corner of the room
• Room 2 Stairs: Found in the center of the room
• Room 8 Stairs: Found on the lower left corner of the room before the passage connecting to Room 7
• Room 9 Stairs: Found on the upper right corner of the room before the passage connecting to Room 10
• Room 17 Portal: Found on the bottom side of the center of the room, just below the pillars
• Room 20 Stairs: Found on the uppermost side of the long passage of the room
• Room 23 Portal: Found in the middle of the corridor in the center of the room

Forgotten Castle 4 (The room with a sigil layout is now Room 8.)

• Room 2 Portal: Found in the middle of the corridor in the center of the room.
• Room 5 Stairs: Found on the lower left part of the room before the passages connecting to Rooms 4 and 10.
• Room 16 Stairs: Found in the upper right corner of the room.
• Room 23 Stairs: Found on the uppermost side of the center of the room.
• Room 24 Stairs: Found on the upper side of the center of the room.

Forgotten Castle 5 (There is a sizeable arena-like layout in the center of the map that takes up to four rooms)

• Room 3 Stairs: Found on the right side before the passage to Room 4
• Room 5 Stairs: Found in the center of the room
• Room 6 Portal: Found in the middle of the corridor in the center of the room
• Room 11 Stairs: Found on the right-most side of the room along the corridor
• Room 14 Portal: Found on the right side of the room after the pillars
• Room 20 Stairs: Found on the upper right corner of the room before the passage to Room 15
• Room 21 Portal: Found on the lower left quadrant of the room
• Room 23 Stairs: Found on the upper right side of the room before the passage to Room 24

Forgotten Castle 6 (The room with pillars will now be in Room 12.)

• Room 2 Stairs: Found on the upper right side of the room before the passage to Room 3.

Inferno Extraction Locations

If you choose to descend into hell, you should note that the only exits here are the Portals. You can only find four of them in each variation of the Inferno. However, you will always find the exits in the four corner rooms of the map. The locations will be different, but they will always be in Room 1, Room 3, Room 7, and Room 9.
