The Tavern Master in Dark and Darker offers several quests you can complete for some neat rewards. Some of them can be confusing, especially if you’re not paying attention to the dialogue. The Tavern Master Quest (Explore Dark Ritual Room A)
The Tavern Master will talk to you about a dangerous room you need to explore in Inferno Mode. Once you accept the quest, the objective only states that you must explore the Dark Ritual Room, but there are three versions of this area. Each boss-type always spawns in a Dark Ritual room, so you’ll have to choose the correct one to complete this quest.
How to Complete Dark Ritual Room Quest
The key to figuring out how to complete this quest is to read what the Tavern Master is saying during his initial dialogue. He'll specifically state that you need to explore the Dark Ritual Room wherein the Lich resides. Many players miss this part because it mistakenly appears as a flavor text, so many gamers don’t notice its importance. You need to enter Inferno Mode and try to locate the Lich Room.
The maps are randomized, so you’ll have to memorize some of the existing layouts to get a handle on the possible spawn locations of the bosses. You don’t need to fight the Lich to complete this quest. All you need to do is enter and exit the room to satisfy the “Explore the Dark Ritual Room A” requirements.
