Animal Crossing Seasonal Items That Players Want to Buy

While the player base has trickled down a bit since its initial release, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is still a game that is very much relevant among the many triple-A titles in the Nintendo Switch’s gaming library. Like the title before it, New Leaf, players can expect to see Nintendo supporting the title for many years until the company has decided to move on to another console. Thus, the release of seasonal items in Animal Crossing: New Horizons has become a norm that pushes players to come back to their island every once in a while. The types of seasonal items that Nintendo will be releasing may vary, but players can rest assured that most of these items will be exclusive or only craftable within a limited amount of time. This results in the materials needed to craft the items also being limited within a certain season or month. For example, a Christmas type of furniture will most probably be only craftable during the season when pinecones can be harvested (around December). There are a plethora of seasonal items to collect in Animal Crossing: New Horizons like the usual Halloween or Valentine’s Day-themed ones, but there are also some unusual and unique seasonal items that players might not know about.

1. Animal Crossing Super Mario Items

   Animal Crossing is known to have some items that are from other Nintendo games. A prime example of this is Super Mario. During the 35th anniversary of Mario, Nintendo commemorated this milestone through New Horizons by bringing Mario theme-related items that one would normally find in those games. Some of the Animal Crossing Mario furniture to be found are the bricks that Mario usually runs around or breaks, plus, there’s also the question mark block that can be purchased from Nook’s Shopping Special Goods in the Promotion tab. There are 16 furniture items in total for players to collect in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The best part is that compared to the other seasonal items, players can get these items anytime! Nintendo first announced that the Mario-themed items were, at first, only available until December 31, 2021, but has since changed their mind. All Mario-related items can only be purchased using Bells and are not craftable.

2. Christmas Event Items

   Starting from December 24 to 25, a Christmas event called Toy Day is held every year in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. This event was added during the November 19, 2020 update where another event called Turkey Day was also released alongside it. Christmas event items are highly sought after since they are only available in December. With the Jingles, players will be giving out presents during Toy Day. This is where players can also craft Toy Day-themed stockings that they can put up on their home’s fireplace or wall. There are certain colors of toy furniture that players can only get during the Christmas season. For the completionists out there who want to fill up their catalog, this is the perfect time to accumulate a bulk of seasonal items that are otherwise unavailable for the rest of the year.

3. Saint Patrick’s Day Items

   In celebration of Saint Patrick’s Day, Shamrock-themed items can be acquired in Nook Shopping. These items will rotate in and out of the shop within each day of the event, so players will have to launch Animal Crossing: New Horizons to purchase them. Those who don’t have the patience can also opt to time-travel to get all of the items immediately, but that option isn’t recommended by those who want to keep the game as “pure” as possible. Three Shamrock items can be purchased using Bells: the Shamrock Rug, Shamrock Soda, and Shamrock Doorplate. There’s also a bunch of clothes that fit the Shamrock theme that players can get in the Able Sisters store which is also only available for a limited time. There are also craftable Shamrock items such as the Shamrock Wand which can be made with a combination of star fragments and clumps of weeds. Items from Saint Patrick’s Day can only be obtained in the week leading up to, and the day of, Saint Patrick’s Day.
