How to Treat and Prevent an Infected Base in StarRupture

Having a lot of bases in StarRupture is the norm. It’s essential as you try to access the Forgotten Engine. Since players have plenty of bases, taking care of each one can be difficult. Alien attacks could lead to your base’s Core getting infected. Luckily, there is a way to treat and prevent an infected base. Here’s a complete guide on how to treat an infected base in StarRupture.

How to Fix an Infected Base in StarRupture

Your in-game map will change your base’s color when it’s infected. Head to the base and locate the infected base core. You can easily spot it by looking at the area with a blue-violet glow. Once you spot the Infected Base Core, shoot it with any weapon until it’s destroyed.

🛸Note: The Infected Base and Infected Base Core have the same blue-violet glow, so it’s hard to distinguish.

Once you’ve destroyed the Infected Base Core, the base will slowly heal and lose the blue-violet glow. The Core will remain infected and glowing blue-violet until you disinfect it by holding the E key

Once everything has been disinfected, the base will turn back to normal. It won’t last long if you keep your base unprotected from alien attacks.

How to Prevent an Infected Base in StarRupture

If you’re struggling to keep your bases from getting infected, you need to have access to an automated defense system. Here’s how you get it in StarRupture.

When you upgrade the Griffits Blue Corporation, you’ll unlock the Defense Tower and the Defense Turret. Both are great to have as a base, but one is the better option.

The Defense Turret is easy to build, but you’ll need to reload ammo manually. The Defense Tower doesn’t require any ammo reloads, making the tower the better option between the two. Set the defense up on your bases, and you won’t have to worry about any more infections from alien attacks.
