In Path of Exile 2, Desecrated items are regular items crafted with the Jawbone, Rib, Collarbone, and Cranium currencies dropped from Abyssal Fissure monsters, which are then thrown into the Well of Soul. Submitting a Desecrated item into the Well will let you pick one out of three randomly selected affixes to your item, making it even more powerful. How To Obtain Abyssal Currencies
The Jawbone, Rib, and Collarbone are the exclusive currencies for the Abyssal League and drop from Abyssal Troves after clearing a fissure. They can also drop from the League-exclusive monsters that emerge from pits.
These currencies come in three qualities:
- Gnawed
- Preserved
- Ancient
Gnawed bones can only allow items at level 64 or lower to be Desecrated. Preserved bones have no item level limit, and Ancient bones give your rolled Desecrated modifiers a minimum of level 40 with no item level restrictions.
Unveiling A Desecrated Modifier
Once you Desecrate an item, the modifier will be hidden by green glyphs. The only way to reveal them is by going to the Well of Souls in Act 2 and submitting the weapon to choose a modifier.
How To Reach The Well of Souls
While in Act 2, stop the caravan at the northern part of the map. From there, make your way to the Mastodon Badlands. While in the Mastodon Badlands, look for the Lightless Passage dungeon. Try not to exit the instance towards the Bone Pits. This dungeon is filled with Abyssal monsters, so be ready for a fight.
At the end of the Lightless Passage, you will reach the Well of Souls. Fortunately, there is a Waypoint next to the Well for easy access.
