    Certain Pals in Palworld are powerful in battles, but others can make your base-building endeavor a lot easier once you catch them and put them to work. Having the right Pals in your home can passively get you a ton of resources. Other Pals are better suited for battle with access to abilities that augment your damage output. This list will show you the best Pals for every situation, from base building to fighting bosses, for the optimal Palworld experience.

    Best Early Game Base Pals

    Pal Feature Found At
    Vixy When partnered, Vixy can occasionally dig up items near your base, such as Pal Spheres, Gold, and Arrows, to generate items passively. This Pal will help reduce crafting time so you can keep exploring. Windswept Hills
    Mammorest Mammorest at base has level 4 Planting, Mining, and Lumbering, making it the best early wood- and ore-farming Pal to work in your base. Its Partner ability can also make your own personal logging and mining more efficient while mounted.     Wispaw Wispaw is a Nocturnal Pal, which makes it work through the night without needing to sleep. With level 3 Crafting, Wispaw is a great Pal for automating item crafting in your base 24/7. Windswept Hills
    Tombat Tombat has a great overlap of skills with level 2 Transporting and level 3 Mining, on top of being a Nocturnal Pal. These skills combined make Tombat the perfect mining base Pal. Windswept Hills, Sea Breeze Archipelago, Marsh Island, Eastern Wild Island, Forgotten Island, Ice Wind Island
    Penking Penking is a great generalist Pal for different base tasks, with level 2 Watering, Handiwork, and Cooling, and level 3 Mining and Transporting. While Penking excels at mining bases, it is flexible enough to assist with farms. Windswept Hills
    Arsox Arsox has level 3 Kindling and level 2 Lumbering, which makes it suitable for keeping furnaces and smelters running. You can also transition it to wood gathering if you run out of fuel. It can also keep you warm in winter biomes so you can explore longer without suffering hypothermia. Ascetic Falls
    Puffolt Puffolt's base skill, which grants all base Pals level 1 Generating Electricity, and its own skill at level 2, turn Puffolt into a powerful battery Pal that supports other electric Pals. Ascetic Falls
    Broncherry Broncherry is one of the most useful farm Pals in the game, as it has access to level 5 Planting, the highest level among Grass-type Pals early on. Ascetic Falls, Investigator's Fork

    Jormuntide Ignis With both Fire and Dragon, Jormuntide Ignis has the highest raw attack, HP, and defense stats in the game. No. 2 Wildlife Sanctuary
    Knocklem Knocklem is the tankiest Pal in the game, with its partner skill giving it a ton of attack and defense when activated. Sakurajima: Waterfall Area
    Hartalis Hartalis' partner skill provides you with an unbreakable barrier while mounted, granting invincibility for a duration while active. This lets you survive massive raid boss attacks. Hatched from Hartalis raid boss egg
    Orserk Orserk has plenty of strong Pal skills in combat that deal massive burst damage with Lightning Bolt and Lightning Streak. No. 3 Wildlife Sanctuary
    Bellanoir / Bellanoir Libero Bellanoir and its counterpart have the highest Attack stat growth in the game and extremely powerful exclusive skills with beams that deal massive sustained damage. Hatched from Bellanoir raid boss egg
    Selyne Wielding both Dark and Neutral, Selyne is a powerful combat Pal with a unique interaction with its Partner skill. While mounted, Selyne's Dark and Neutral attacks are enhanced, increasing its DPS. Spawns during Meteorite Event in Sakurajima
    Felbat Felbat is one of the few sources of lifesteal in Palworld, especially in the early game when healing is scarce. When summoned, dealing damage as your Trainer can restore health when you are low on healing supplies. Forgotten Island
