Unlocking More Ship Slots in War Sails
At the beginning of the game, you already have three slots available so that you can field three ships from the start. Your next goal is to open up six slots. Obtaining more space for your fleet involves leveling up your Boatswain and shipmaster to unlock certain perks. Here is how you get additional slots in War Sails
Boatswain Level 200 Perks (+1)
- At level 200, you can choose Port Authority or Blessings of the Sea perk for your Boatswain. You can choose only one, but both will grant you +1 ship.
Boatswain Level 250 Perk (+1)
- At level 250, you need to choose Merchant Fleet for your Boatswain to add one more to your command limit.
Shipmaster Level 225 (+1)
- At level 225, you can choose between Master & Commander and Stormrider, which will both grant you +1 ship slot. However, you can only choose one, and each offers different bonus perks.
You can level up these two crews by playing and doing more content. Fighting naval battles will grant you EXP, so make sure to level up your crew as fast as you can.
How to Get All 8 Ship Slots
Once you’ve unlocked six slots, you have reached the limit for a single command. If you want to field eight ships simultaneously, you have to command an army. Otherwise, the last two command limits will be locked for you. If you’re in a single party, the locked slots will show a tooltip saying you don’t have enough skills to field more ships. However, you only have to command an army during a naval battle to use all eight.
