The new Praxic Blade exotic in Destiny 2 is a reward for completing the Exotic mission Fire and Ice and comes with a load of customizable mods to make the weapon your own. Since the Exotic mission has no markers to lead through, this guide will guide you through the platforming sections and the mechanics in this mission. For players looking to expand their arsenal quickly, there are plenty of Destiny 2 items for sale online.
Accessing The Exotic Quest
The mission will be unlocked once you reach quest step 33 of the Renegades questline, where you must go to a Praxic Temple in Europa with Aunor. From the quest tab, check the Details to start the quest. If you get stuck on the platforming or the final encounter, a Destiny 2 Carry Service can help you finish it fast.
First Combat Encounter
This encounter is simple: kill all enemies and head to the temple. In front of the entrance is a Darkness splinter that you need to interact with to spawn Taken enemies. Once all Taken enemies are defeated, jump into the pillar in the center of the arena, as there is a hidden hole at the center.
Platforming Section #1
Keep going through the Taken realm until you find a large jumping puzzle area. Crouch walk next to the wall, but beware of the gaps, as they will push you off the wall and send you plummeting to your death. At the end, jump into the rock at the end of the path. Turn around and jump to the second level of that wall. At the end of the wall, turn right into a small hallway.
Platforming Section #2
Climb up the stairs until you see a symbol on the floor. Stepping on the symbol makes the floor disappear, but don’t step on it. Instead, turn right to a small gap in the room. Run through the beam, but beware again of the walls that will try to push you out. At the end of the hallway, jump up and use the walls that just pushed you to reach the other side.
Platforming Section #3
After a short linear crouching route, there will be a long hallway with the same symbol that causes the floor to disappear when stepped on. There are gates in the hallway that will close if you get near. The quickest and safest route through this hallway is:
- Run to the right side of the hallway and go straight through two gates.
- At the third gate, turn left and keep moving forward
At the end of the hallway, turn around and jump on the rock platforms to the left. Next, jump to the doorframe at the end, then jump into the spire platform on the ceiling. You will be traversing the ceiling portion of the disappearing floor puzzle you just went through. At the end, jump towards the platform with white light shining on it.
Platforming Section #4
You will be in an open area with disappearing floors. There are Taken Hobgoblins at the far sides that will try to snipe you, so bring a sniper or any long-range gun. Run through the gauntlet of disappearing floors until you reach an area with completely solid ground. Jump to any ledge you see until you find an illuminated platform. Jump down and turn left towards a small gap. Jump up the platforms inside the structure, but be careful of the Taken blights that will push you off. Reach the top of the structure, then jump towards the large landing.
Second Combat Encounter
In the arena, four large orbs are floating in the air, two Light orbs and two Dark orbs in total. In this encounter, your goal is to kill certain enemies that drop Light and Dark spheres. You must then throw them at the matching orbs to fill them up. However, it's important that you evenly distribute the spheres to all orbs, as filling up one before any other orb will delay the fight.
To spheres spawn, you must kill the orange bar Taken Centurion and Cabal Centurion. However, the dropped sphere’s color changes based on the current buff you receive, either Taken Energy Cleaved or Barant Energy Cleaved.
Killing an orange-bar enemy of the same faction as your current displayed buff will make them drop Light spheres, while killing an orange-bar enemy of the opposite faction as your current buff will make them drop Dark spheres.
For example: Killing an Imperial Centurion while you have “Taken Energy Cleaved” makes them drop Light orbs, while killing a Taken Centurion with the same buff makes them drop Dark orbs.
Filling all Blights ends the encounter, which will lead you to the final boss of this mission.
Disciple of Harrow Boss Fight
This boss fight is straightforward: Damage the boss until you reach one of his health gates. To drop his immunity shield, destroy the Cabal force field generator to break his immunity shield. At the last segment, you will have to do the Blight mechanic again, filling all 4 Blights with the appropriate orbs. Once he’s dead, you will receive the Praxic Blade.
