Bungie is pushing for the Kepler patrol zone to be a core activity in Destiny 2's The Edge of Fate, complete with World Tiers, world activities, and exclusive abilities only available in Kepler. Since this is a new system, this guide will help you navigate through Kepler and find the best activities for good loot.
Kepler World Tiers
For Diablo 4 fans, this will look familiar. While in Kepler, you can adjust the difficulty of the patrol zone to make enemies hit harder, but also grant more rewards to you. These come in 4 difficulties:
- Brave: Standard difficulty, no modifiers
- Legendary: Heavily shielded, highly aggressive enemies appear with the Galvanized modifier
- Fabled: Requires 150 Power. Enemies with Banes now appear, and player power is capped at 30 below enemies.
- Mythic: Requires 200 Power. All modifiers are on, including disabled radar and player power capped at 50 below enemies.
Each difficulty adds a x1 reward modifier for completing activities. Brave offers the lowest rewards, while Mythic gives out the most whenever you open a chest in the Campaign, a Mystery, and The Sieve.
Kepler Currencies and Altar of Relativity
While the actual loot itself is scarce in Kepler, especially during the Campaign, you'll obtain world materials like Spirit Bloom, Relic Iron, Phaseglass, and Alkane Mutation, as well as Quantum Substrates and Fated Ciphers. These are all used to purchase gear in the Altar of Relativity within the Kepler hub area.
The Altar of Relativity has multiple functions. First, you can Attune for specific weapons or armor if you want to increase the drop chance for that weapon. You can also focus Engrams for Tier 1 to Tier 3 Kepler gear using a destination material and Fated Ciphers.
Finally, you can obtain curated rolls of every Kepler weapon by completing certain Triumphs for Edge of Fate. These are all Tier 5 and will come with multiple perks on each combo, incentivizing you to complete every challenge in the expansion. Rather than spending weeks on Triumphs, some players choose to buy Destiny account packages that come with these Tier 5 curated rolls ready to use."
The Sieve
This activity is one of the biggest sources of loot in Kepler, but it is a limited-time event that only appears at certain times of the day. The main objective of The Sieve is to defend a dark matter extractor by killing enemies that spawn, including shielded enemies that require Matterspark to make them vulnerable.
There will also be a boss wave during the activity, which requires completing a mechanic to enter their next damage phase. The Sieve will grant destination materials like Phaseglass and Relic Iron, Quantum Substrates, and Fated Ciphers.
