Dead by Daylight: Patch 9.4.0 Highlights Vecna + 2V8

Stranger Things Chapter 2 is here on Dead by Daylight, and along with it comes a massive update. This patch involves the addition of 3 new Characters (Vecna, Dustin Henderson, and Eleven) as well as the return of the fan favorite 2 v 8 mode.

All New Dead By Daylight Changes in Patch 9.4.0

New Killer: Vecna, The First

Special Condition: Worldbreaker Token and Grandfather Clock

These abilities synergize with each other and are a crucial part of Vecna’s gameplay. Worldbreaker Tokens stack on survivors every time his Vine Attack hits them. With enough tokens, the Grandfather Clocks activate, and the Worldbreaker Timer Activates. During this time, Vecna’s abilities deal significant damage to Survivors. On the other hand, Survivors can interact with the clocks to significantly speed up the Worldbreaker timer.

New Abilities: Vine Attack and The Upside Down & Undergate

Ability Description
Vine Attack The main form of resource generation for Vecna. Every time a survivor is hit, they gain 1 token. This is not all too difficult, as it's a quick charging ability with an AoE hitbox.
The Upside Down & Undergate A two-stage ability. The first stage lets Vecna enter the Upside Down and become intangible. The second stage, Undergate, is Vecna leaving the Upside Down and creating a large AoE attack that hits all those 2 Worldbreaker tokens.

New Perks: Turn Back the Clock, Secret Project, Hex: Hive Mind

Perk Description
Turn Back the Clock After hooking a Survivor, for 40/50/60 seconds, press Ability button 1 to make the target generator within 20/20/20 meters explode, lose 10/10/10% progress, and start regressing.
Secret Project When a totem is blessed or cleansed, block a random unblocked generator for 20/25/30 seconds. When 1 or more generators become blocked, you gain Undetectable for 30/30/30 seconds.
Hex: Hive Mind The first time you hook any Survivor, a Dull Totem becomes a Hex Totem. Generators are highlighted; the intensity of generator auras reveals their repair progress. When 1/1/1 generator remains, all remaining generators explode, lose 6/8/10% progress, and start regressing, and the Hex Totem becomes dull.

New Survivors: Dustin Henderson and Eleven

New Perks for Dustin Henderson

  • Increased Zombie movement speed by 35%

Class Changes

Brute: Killer

  • Break action speed increased by 25%
  • Kicking Generators will weaken and begin losing progress
  • Next time a survivor interacts with a kicked generator past the regression point, it explodes. This causes the survivor to suffer from ”Hindered” status effect for 12 Seconds.
  • Cooldown for 60 seconds, where the break action speed bonus is not applied.

Fearmonger: Killer

  • Gain 5% Haste when not visible to survivors
  • Injuring any survivor causes up to 2 survivors to scream, revealing their location for 2 seconds.
  • Cooldown for 60 seconds, where Haste bonus is not applied.

Enforcer: Killer

  • Gain 3% Haste when chasing an injured Survivor.
  • Hitting a Survivor leaves them with a Mark visible to you and your teammate. Marked survivors have their aura revealed for 1 second every 8 seconds. The mark lasts 45 seconds and is consumed when the survivor is downed, which increases lunge attack distance by 60% for 15 seconds.
  • 60-second cooldown where the Haste bonus is not applied.

Torchbearer (New Survivor Class)

  • Starts with Flashlight
  • Class skill charges over 60 seconds, granting Flash Grenade when fully charged.
  • Cooldown 60 seconds
  • Survivors in chase have their aura revealed to you within 32 meters.
  • Point flashlight at Killer for 0.5 Seconds to reveal their location for 2 seconds.

TLDR

Vecna is an AoE monster with abilities that would land him in S-tier for most lists and at minimum high A-tier. Dustin’s personal perks make him an objective-based survivor who can lay traps to slow down the Killer. Eleven could be one of the better, if not the best, information-gathering Survivors. 2V8 returns on January 8 and continues through January 13 for the PTB.
