You don’t have to buy the exact guns here, but these are what we recommend if you don’t have an inkling of what to buy.

1. Cash-Infused Brainstormer

   The Cash-Infused Brainstormer is a Hyperion Shotgun that’s perfect for taking on shielded enemies. Shielded enemies can be annoying to kill since their defenses regenerate over time, but with the Cash-Infused Brainstormer, you’ll have a much easier time taking them down. This is thanks to the electric chains that damages all of the enemies nearby, and since this is a shotgun, it also deals a ton of damage! If you’re looking for a way to deal with loads of enemies at the same time, shielded or not, then this gun is perfect for the job.

2. O.P.Q. System

   Assault Rifles, in general, are a dime a dozen in shooter games, and with good reason. Because they’re just so versatile! Assaults Rifles are a popular type of weapon, but the O.P.Q. System in Borderlands 3 takes it to the next level. This gun allows you to spawn a drone copy of the weapon which will be active for 13 seconds. During those precious 13 seconds, the drone will fire on the same target that you’re gunning down. Besides being able to shoot at enemies automatically, it’ll occasionally shoot shock projectiles as well. This legendary gun is highly effective against shields or barrier, and has the ability to fire “V” patterns of bullets that sparkle. The Shocking 9-Volt is sure to shock your senses due to the power that it brings forth on the battlefield.

About Borderlands 3 Guns

In Borderlands 3, guns are divided into several categories based on manufacturer and weapon type, each with unique characteristics. Here’s a breakdown of the main gun categories:

• Pistols: Versatile and lightweight, pistols vary widely between high-damage single shots and rapid-fire options. They’re ideal for close to mid-range combat.

• SMGs (Submachine Guns): SMGs are rapid-fire weapons with moderate range, dealing significant damage in short bursts and great for crowd control.

• Shotguns: Known for high damage at close range, shotguns are powerful but have limited range and often lower ammo capacity.

• Assault Rifles: Assault rifles offer balanced range and power, making them effective in various combat situations. They can be automatic, semi-automatic, or burst fire.

• Sniper Rifles: With high precision and long-range capabilities, sniper rifles are ideal for picking off enemies from a distance. They often deal high critical damage.

• Launchers: Rocket launchers deal heavy splash damage and are perfect for taking down tough enemies or groups but have slower reload times and limited ammo.

Each weapon type also varies by manufacturer, with companies like Jakobs, Maliwan, and Torgue adding their own flair, such as elemental damage or unique firing mechanics, giving players endless variety to find their preferred weapon loadout in Borderlands 3.

Unlike Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, where lasers were introduced as a weapon type, Borderlands 3 shifted back to traditional ballistic and elemental weapons without including laser guns. However, Cryo has made it to the game. The element behaves differently from the previous game, this time being able to freeze enemies. While frozen, they receive 300% more melee damage.

Gun Manufacturers  

Depending on how players build their character, sometimes they’ll tend to use one manufacturer’s guns over the others. Elemental builds would use mostly Maliwan weapons, sniper builds would use Jakobs, etc. This has the side effect of making the player prefer fewer weapon types, as each manufacturer would only build guns of certain types. For example, there aren’t any Atlas sniper rifles, nor are there any Jakobs rocket launchers. They can still use guns from other manufacturers, but they’re less effective.

All gun manufacturers also make shields (except for Eridian), class mods, and grenade mods. However, two companies don’t make guns: Anshin and Pangolin.
