The return of Mists of Pandaria to WoW Classic has seen the rise of players creating new characters with the Pandaren race and the new Monk class. Starting from level 1 again, players are scrambling to reach max level and get started on Mythic raiding. This guide will help you and other levelers reach level 90 fast in the shortest amount of time.
Leveling Tips
- Always wear Heirloom gear for your alt characters, as not only do these scale with you through the process, but they also provide a massive XP boost to your overall account for.
- If you're stuck in certain quests, your next best option is to queue up for random dungeons through the Dungeon Finder, as matchmade parties for dungeons have a small XP buff.
- Should you encounter a rare mob in any of the zones you’re leveling in, it is recommended that you kill them as they grant a quest worth of XP and can hasten your leveling run.
- When you reach level 20, 40, 60 and 70, stop by the Mount Trainer to purchase skills for increasing your ground and flying mount’s speed by a significant amount.
- Whenever the Dark Moon Faire is open, head to your faction’s major city and speak to the Darkmoon Faire Mage there to teleport to the event. Buy a ticket and stand on the carousel there until the XP buff stacks to a 1 hour duration.

Level 35-49
- The Western Plaguelands will be the next stop for both Alliance and Horde players and is the best leveling area for the 35-40 range. Horde players can level through Felstone Field and Delson’s Farm, while Alliance players can level through Andorhal and Chilwind Camp.
- After reaching level 39, you should then move to the Eastern Plaguelands and go through Fiona’s Caravan questline. Once you’re done with it, take the quests south of Tyr’s Hand for more XP. Try to complete every quest in the Eastern Plaguelands as there are many efficient quests here.
- When you’re done, travel all the way to Kalimdor and into the Felwood zone, where the map is linear enough for a straight questing route. Complete all quests in Felwood, then head north into Winterspring.
Level 49-58
- From this range, Winterspring is your best option for questing XP. However, spamming random Dungeons is your absolute best option from 49-58 as this will allow you to queue up for Blackrock Depths Detention Block. This dungeon can be cleared extremely fast and is by far the most efficient XP farm.
Level 58-68
- Go to the Blasted Lands through the different faction city portals. Enter the Dark Gate into Hellfire Peninsula and go through your faction’s questlines in Thrallmar for Horde and Honor Hold for Alliance. Work your way towards the Ruins of Sha’naar as their are many good quests there. Keep leveling until you reach level 61.
- When you’re done with Hellfire Peninsula at level 61, head to Zangarmarsh and begin questing at Cenarion Refuge and Telredor for Alliance or Zabra’jin for Horde.
Note: By this level range, you should also be queueing up for TBC dungeons as these are all very good for leveling.
- Upon reaching level 64, head to Nagrand and begin questing at Telaar for Alliance and Garadart for Horde. You should also head to the Laughing Skull Ruins up north for the Ring of Blood questline.
- On level 67, head to Netherstorm and do all the quests on Area 52, as there are many quests concentrated on that area and are fairly easy to complete. Once you’re at level 68, it’s time to do WotLK content.
Level 68-80
- Head to Northrend and start at the Borean Tundra over the Howling Fjord as the former has faster quests. Alliance players should start at Valiance Keep to Riplash Strand and Warsong Hold to Garrosh’s Landing for Horde. When you’re done, head to the Coldarra region and complete all quests in The Nexus. If you still need more XP to reach level 71, start questing at Fizzcrank Airstrip for Alliance and Taunka’le Village for Horde.
- On level 71, head to Dragonblight at keep questing there until you reach level 75. Wyrmrest Temple has a good questline leading you through the different Dragonshrine for more XP. If you need more XP for 75, Wintergarde Keep and Venomspite (Alliance and Horde, respectively) will have quests that can lead you to the base of Naxxramas.
- By this point, you should start spamming Dungeons again since Gundrak and Drak'Tharon Keep are more efficient sources of XP. This is the most efficient way to reach level 80, but this varies depending on your current role, easiest for tanks and healers, harder for DPS players.
- Reaching level 75, you should head to Zul’Drak next and complete all quests until you reach the Ampitheatre of Anguish, which functions like the Ring of Blood arena.
- The last zone you should level in is Icecrown, starting with the questline at Argent Vanguard.
Level 80-85
- Finally, you should now do Cataclysm content from levels 80 to 85. By far the most efficient starting zone for leveling is Mount Hyjal. Then, move on to Deepholm, Uldum and Twilight Highlands for leveling in that order. Once again, spamming the Dungeon Finder will get you more than enough XP without having to quest in every zone.
Level 85-90
- At level 85, you will finally unlock Mists of Pandaria content. By this point, simply follow every quest you can find in each zone and do every dungeon for MoP to get their end quests and reach level 90.
