In Space Marine 2, you and your teammates may find yourselves in battles facing off with swarms of Tyranids or enemy squads. You’ll need to give it all if you want to win, and, oftentimes, this can drain your health bar. While playing, ypu’ll want to take full advantage of everything around you to help in your fight against the hordes of enemies.
To progress and level your weapons and get class perks, you’ll need to play plenty of games in Operations,. XP is essential when it comes to upgrading your Space Marine’s loadout. A faster way to earn XP is through the use of Gene Seeds. Here’s everything you need to know about Gene Seeds and where to find them in Space Marine 2.

What are Gene Seeds?
Gene Seeds are collectibles you can get in Operations missions that increase the XP you and your squad members gain at the end. They can be found in different areas of the mission, but the spawn of the Gene Seeds will vary for each run.
Only one member of your squad needs to have the Gene Seed, since all of you will reap the XP Bonus reward. The only caveat to using the Gene Seed is that you’ll lose a slot in your Guardian Relic. Also, if you or your teammates have the Gene Seed, you’ll need to keep them and yourself safe. The Gene Seed will break if the player holding it dies during the mission. So, remember to be careful when heading into a horde or drawing aggro from an enemy.
Where To Get Gene Seeds?
As mentioned, the Gene Seeds spawn points will vary in Operation missions, but they mostly spawn in maps involving the Tyranids. The Gene Seeds can also spawn where Armory Data usually are too. You’ll need to keep a close watch for any Gene Seeds during your runs as you never know when you’ll stumble upon one. Take note that Gene Seeds will spawn in areas where Guardian Relics also appear. To help players out, here’s a list of all the locations to keep an eye for in Space Marine 2.
Inferno Mission Gene Seed Location
As of now there are 3 Gene Seeds in this mission. When you start at the level, you’ll go through a swamp area, where you’ll reach a bridge that has a burning vehicle very close to it. Here, you’ll find a green box on the side of the rubble, where you’ll find the Gene Seed.
When you enter the Promethium processing plant, in the outer area from the swamp. Head to the ramp that leads towards a building. You’ll see another building on the left that takes you to a large tree. Go to the tree and you’ll find the Gene Seed near the green boxes.
You’ll find another Gene Seed inside the large collapsed water room with red lights after you go to the generator defense. Drop in and check the corner in the back of the room. You’ll find a lot of crates and behind them, will be a Gene Seed.
Decapitation Mission Gene Seed Locations
In the Decapitation mission there are 4 Gene Seeds that you can find. At the start of the mission. You’ll be fighting in the ruins of a church. Proceed forward to the outer area of the ruins and you’ll come across a catwalk being guarded by Tyranid Warriors. Defeat them and go past the catwalk to find a large open area with red crates. Once you enter the area you’ll come across a rundown area with a fence covering the edge of the building. You will find the Gene Seed there.
The next Gene Seed can be found after planting the charges for the mission. Head to the elevator room, where you’ll find it in the corner.
To find the third Gene Seed you’ll need to go up the elevator after you’ve planted the charges in the tower. When you reach the bridge, you’ll see some statues in the room and the Gene Seed will be next to them.
The fourth Gene Seed can be found when you walk out towards the detonation area of the bridge. There’s going to be a large section of the building where there are storage crates at the back. You’ll find the Gene Seeds at the back of those crates in a corner.
Ballisitc Engine Mission Gene Seed Location
For the Ballistic Engine mission, it’s going to be difficult to find the Gene Seeds due to the surrounding environment. So, keep your eyes peeled for possible Gene Seeds for this mission. In the first section of the map on the left, there’ll be a tiny room. Go around the corner and wait for the dust storm to die down and go up the steps where the Objective Marker is. Head into the room and on the left side of the room should be a Gene Seed.
For the second Gene Seed, head into the trainline area. Head to the left and up and follow the left side of the wall. You’ll see a tank and when you go near it, you’ll find an opening to the left that leads to a hidden spot. In that spot you’ll find the Gene Seed behind a box. There’ll also be a Dataslate near the tank as well.
After defeating the enemies in the train shipping line area, you’ll find a ledge that you can drop down on. Head to down a small corridor,. You’ll find a Gene Seed in the corner. You’ll find this area before you go to the train Objective Marker.
If you follow this guide, you’ll be able to find Gene Seeds to boost you and your teammates XP after completing a mission. As mentioned, there’ll be times that the Gene Seeds will not spawn in the area mentioned, but other items such as Armory Data and Guardian Relics will appear instead. Try to remember the areas where most items spawn and you’ll have a chance at acquiring a Gene Seed for you and your squad.
