Breeding in Palword isn’t as simple as dropping two Pals in a Pal Center and hoping you’ll get an egg out of it soon.
Palworld is a Pokemon-esque game where you can hatch and raise cute animals. It doesn’t stop there, though. The title also features dangerous bosses, weapons, survival elements, automation, and modern-day slavery. As with any creature collecting game, one of the most crucial aspects to getting better Pals is through breeding. With an element of RNG, breeding is an excellent method for creating a team of the strongest Pals. If you’re scratching your head wondering how to breed Pals, our Palword breeding guide will go over the basics, including navigating the Breeding Farm and encouraging your Pals to mingle and make a cake.
Palworld: How to Bake A Cake
You’ll need Cakes to get Pals to engage in breeding, but first, you must unlock the Cooking Pot and Mill. This can be done by reaching Level 17. Then, you’ll need the following ingredients to make a cake:
- Flour 5x
- Red Berries 8x
- Eggs 8x
- Milk x7
- Honey x2
Given the list of ingredients, we’re not sure what’s so special about this cake, but it’s the most potent aphrodisiac known to Pals. Then again, in a game that took the meme and ran with it, who are we to question its logic?
If you’re struggling to get the ingredients, you can buy the milk and eggs from a small settlement southwest of Rayne Syndicate’s Tower. Honey is especially challenging but can be obtained by taking down Beegardes. A few are around the map, so just keep your eyes peeled. They generally can be found in the island's deeper parts, around the map's center.
Palworld Breeding Setup
First, you should set up a Breeding Farm to breed Pals. This infrastructure can only be unlocked once you reach Level 19 in Technology, and you’ll need 50 Fiber, 100 Wood, and 20 Stone. Since it’s such a large structure, you may need to make an entirely new base. You’ll also have to craft another Feed Box, a Palbox, and two Straw Beds. Then there’s the matter of incubating your eggs, which is where the Egg Incubator comes in.
Breeding Palworld Pals
Once you’ve built everything, deploy two Pals to the base and assign them to the Breeding Farm. You must place a cake in the box near the edge of the Feeding Farm’s gate for them to do their thing. After time goes by, you should be able to find an egg. A timer in the middle of the Breeding Farm shows you how much time is left before the process is finished. After that, an egg will appear. You can continue breeding the same Pals on the farm with more cakes or deploy new ones to see what sort of Pals you can make.
Palworld Pal Traits
The traits of the egg are based on the Pals you breed. With that in mind, make sure to choose parents that have good traits you want to see. Breeding is one of the best ways to make the strongest Pals, so why not take advantage of it?
You’re also not limited to breeding Pals of the same species; you can check two different Pals of the opposing gender in the Breeding Farm to see what kind of Pal you’ll get. However, we advise thinking before doing this, as you can get some of the rarest Pals with this method. There’s no confirmation whether Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution is canonically present in Palworld, but if it is, he’d probably be working overtime to bake as many cakes as possible.
Palworld Breeding Combos to Get Fusion Pals
Fusion Pals are variants of regular Pals that you encounter on the map. They are noteworthy because they sport a different appearance and element from their original versions. Most Fusion Pals can be caught in the wild, encountered in a dungeon, or as a Field Boss. If you don’t want to travel around the map searching for these extraordinary Pals, you can simply try creating them through the Breeding Farm.
There are 24 known Fusion Pals in Palworld, ranging from achievable, early-game Pals to absolute behemoths that can provide you an edge to tackle some of the game’s more formidable content.

Element Types in Palworld
Some Fusion Pals in Palworld can have two element types. Because of this, it can further increase, decrease, or negate the changes depending on how the elements affect the Pal. If both elements are strong, your Pal can deal as much as 4x damage, but it can also deal 0.25x reduced damage if the elements are weak against an enemy.
Here’s a table that shows the statistics based on how strong/weak an element can be:
Type 1 Element |
