Twilight Emissary Infiltration

First, speak to Servius in the Sunrise Palace and will request that you speak to Queen Zyanyi to start the quest. She will task you with infiltrating the Twilight Emissaries and discovering their plans.

To infiltrate the area, you must wear the Emissary robes. Go past the guard near the basement by telling the password “Final Dawn.” Once inside, sneak past the guard by using the cells on the side of the hallway and search the bed and drawer for a key and a canvas piece. While you’re at it, equip your best combat gear as the robes are no longer required. Click on the sun painting with the canvas piece to unlock a secret room. Lockpick the chest and be ready for a fight with the Emissary Enforcer.

The Enforcer attacks using a 3x3 grid slam, meaning that you can avoid damage by stepping back when he reels back his sword. After defeating him, loot the scroll, read it, and head to the Sunrise Palace. Speak to the Queen for the next step

Breaking and Entering

Queen Zanyi will ask you to find Captain Vibia and assist her in capturing Forbearer Janus. Go to the southwest wall and speak to the Captain near the well. Speak to her, then open the window in the southeast and give the dog a bone or meat. Inspect the dog’s collar to reveal the name “GUS”, which is the code to the door leading to the entire house.

Bring Vibia inside and craft a makeshift blackjack using a knife (kitchen), a sack of potatoes (near the stairs), a coin purse (drawer near the bed), and a branch (use the knife on the light green plant on the top floor), which can all be found inside the house.

This will start a cutscene where you knock out Forbearer Janus. Take the key from Janus and head to the basement, which starts another cutscene.

Find the Traitor

You will be teleported to Cam Torum after a meeting with the Queen and Highlord Katlo. Afterwards, speak to Attala ahead, and she’ll task you with locating evidence of Teumo’s betrayal. First, go to his house just east of the bank. Squeeze through the door and give Galna, the dwarf inside, a beer after talking to her. This gives you access to the whole house.

Grab the following drinks from the cabinet to the southwest: Steamforge brew, Dwarven stout, beer, and Wizard’s mind bomb. You should then place each drink in the correct barrels. Here is the correct order:

  • Beer in the northern barrel
  • Dwarven stout on the eastern barrel
  • Wizard’s mind bomb on the southeastern barrel
  • Steamforge brew on southern barrel
  • Drink the beer on the barrel south of the staircase, and place the beer glass on top of it

This opens the way, which leads to a lever. Pull it and go through the hole where you gain information on Teumo and the cult’s activities. Return to Servius and Attala and speak to them about the news. Your next destination is Neypotzli.

Neypotzli Battle

When you enter, you will be given a keystone fragment by Eyatlalli, which you can use to resonate with certain areas in Neypotzli. There is one area in the Streambound Caverns and another in the Earthbound Caverns. Once you have resonated with both areas, go to the Ancient Prison and use the fragment on the southeast section.

This triggers a fight with Lucius and Chimalli. Lucius will deal Magic damage while Chimalli deals Ranged damage, so use the proper prayers. One mechanic to watch out for is Lucius’ 3x projectile attack that can disable prayer on hit and deal heavy damage. There is a sun in the room that you can stand under to avoid this damage. After beating them both, Attala will arrive. Go to Tal Teklan and look for Servius.

Crypt of Tonali

Servius will tell you that the Crypt of Tonali is under attack, so you must head southeast towards the Crypt to assist in the defense. Before you go, make sure to equip your best combat gear and bring some food or potions to survive the onslaught. There will be 6 waves of Emissary Brawlers, Archers, and Conjurers. The battle will fail if all the Tonali defenders die, so make sure to either kill all enemies quickly or draw their aggro.

Once you beat all the waves, a cutscene will trigger where the Crypt doors will open. You can now fight Tullus. This boss will use Protect from Magic and Ranged, so a melee weapon is required to damage him. He will have three mechanics:

  • A line of suns will appear on the floor. After a short delay, a column will fire will blast through the line, inflicting a burn effect on you if you get hit.
  • Glowing circles will appear at the arena, which show the safe spots for his fire blast. Afterwards, he will blast fire at areas not marked by the circles.
  • Tullius will occasionally disable your active prayer. To re-enable it, disengage from him in melee and re-activate your prayer.

Once you deplete his health, he will revive and become enraged, restoring a portion of his health and making his special attacks more dangerous. Depleting his health again will truly end the fight and allow you to continue the quest.

Tonali Cavern Puzzle

After the fight ends, go through the different Agility shortcuts towards the end of the cavern. At the end, there will be a puzzle that you must solve to progress. One room will be marked with a sun and the other with a moon.

Moon Room Solution

The path will be blocked by dark blue flames and light blue flames. To remove these flames, you can command Prince Itzla to step on one of two plates. The northern platform removes the dark blue flames, and the southern platform removes the light blue flames. Past the first blue flames, take the old tools and cut the tree roots to the right. You’ll need to gather all the tree roots in this room.

Fletch the roots into kindling, as you will need to put these in the moon statue in this room. When interacting with the statue, it will ask how much kindling you want to put on it. The correct number of kindling you need to put is indicated by the number of lit braziers when Prince Itzla steps on a plate. Count the number of lit braziers currently lit, then have the Prince step on the other plate and count the number of lit braziers again. Add them up and input the number of kindling equal to the number of lit braziers. When you input the wrong number, you take damage. If correct, you will need to do this again two more times.

Complete the puzzle correctly 3 times to finish this room.

Sun Room Solution

Gather Kuhu essence in the pots, as you will need this to activate the statues to solve the puzzle. Read the inscription on the statue, which will contain three words in the Old One’s language. These three words are numbers. Here is the translation of every word

  • Oma = 2
  • Naui = 4
  • Kuli = 5
  • Chaki = 6
  • Koma = 7
  • Ueai = 8
  • Makti = 10

The first word indicates which altar Prince Itzla should stand on, while the second word indicates which altar YOU should stand on. Ignore the third word. The altar to number orientation will be displayed here:

8

                                                                                      7   N    1

                                                                       6     W    E    2

                                                                            5    S     3

                                                                                           4

First, command the Prince to stand on an altar indicated by the first word. Once you’re standing in the right altar, use the Kuhu essence on it to input the answer. If you’re wrong, you will take damage. If correct, the statue will make another phrase, and you will need to do it again.

Complete this puzzle three times to finish this part of the puzzle.

Metzli Boss Battle

Once you enter the final door, Metzli will be waiting for you. After a cutscene, you can now fight her. Metzli will initially use Ranged attacks for the first phase, so use a Protect from Missile prayer.

Metzli shares the same mechanics as Lucius and Ennius, but will have a couple of new mechanics unique to her.

  • Two walls of fire appear at the edge of the arena and will begin closing in on you. Each wall has a gap where there's no fire in it, allowing you to pass through unharmed
  • Same mechanic with two walls of flames closing in, but two white portals will appear near Metzli. These portals lead you to the outer portions of the arena. When the flame walls go past the portal in the outer portion, go through the one nearest Metzli to teleport away from the incoming flame wall.

When Metzli uses the portal mechanic, she will switch to a different weapon style, so make sure to switch your Ranged prayer to the one she’s using.

Once you reduce her health to 10%, she will become enraged and conjure 4 flame walls in each direction. When this occurs, she will target the quadrant you’re on and blast it. To avoid this, run to the portals near the next quadrant to teleport to the next quadrant. If you have a ranged weapon, best use it for this phase, as it will not end until Metzli dies. If not, run to Metzli, hit her once in melee, then run to the next portal.

Once you defeat her, a cutscene will play, and she will be dead for good. Take the time to explore the temple before you leave. Once you’re out, speak to Prince Itzla to end the quest and receive the Arkan blade as your reward.
