Players need Energy Links for most transactions within the game, so you’ll need a lot if you want to progress smoothly. Although you can quickly get Energy Links through multiple activities, the rate you consume and spend them forces you to farm more. You must collect a considerable amount of this resource to avoid any trouble buying or crafting various things in Once Human.
How to Farm Energy Links
There are two ways to farm Energy Links in bulk: crafting and selling things and farming Securement Silos. In the early game, most players would choose the former since the latter requires you to have decent gear. However, due to the scarcity of resources, your production of things to sell will be significantly slower until you gain access to more materials.
Farming Securement Silos will also yield a significant amount of Energy Links, as well as other rewards. However, you must ensure that you are well equipped for them to make resource collection more optimal. Here are ways to optimize both farming methods.
Crafting and Selling Items
Most things in Once Human can net you Energy Link when you sell them to NPCs. This is why we advise players to sell their old and unused equipment instead of simply discarding them. Crafting things will give you a considerable amount of Energy Link if you can sell them in bulk. Here is the list of the most profitable items for this specific resource:
- Tea
- Steel Pickaxes
- Steel Axes
- Bronze Pickaxes
- Throwing Daggers
- Canned Meat
- Salt
- Corn Ale
Ideally, you can maintain a steady supply of Energy Links by selling what you usually have, but if you want to gain a massive stock of this resource, you’ll need to craft items in bulk specifically. However, players have reported that as long as they keep playing the game, you won’t run out of Energy Links.
Farming Securement Silos
Securement Silos are dungeon-like content that make you face a series of enemies and at least two bosses. Completing a run will yield you tons of rewards, including Energy Link. You can typically finish one Securement Silo within ten minutes or less if you are wearing decent gear. The only takeaway is that you need suitable guns for the job or you’ll be stuck in the dungeons for a while.
Tips
- Ideally, we only advise players to target farm Energy Links during the game's early stages. You don't need too much once you get into the late game, so you might have an unusable excess if you farm too much.
- The best way to optimize your Craft and Sell farm for Energy Link is to focus on making the ones that require readily available resources. If you are in an area with abundant Bronze and tin, focus on copper and steel items.
