The full release of Mistfall Hunter saw many changes to the classes. Dominant classes during the beta phase saw major adjustments to their power. Other classes that felt underwhelming, like the Whithered Knight, received multiple adjustments and a brand new set of weapons. With 1.0 well underway, here are the best classes to choose in Mistfall Hunter along with recommended builds.
Best Beginner Class: Mercenary
The Mercenary is the typical sword-and-board warrior class. Easy to pick up and very forgiving with the parry timings. Players with a bit more proficiency can find great success with the hammer thanks to its massive damage and knockdown potential. While amazing at close-range duels, the Mercenary can get easily kited and overwhelmed in teamfights.
Sword and Shield vs Hammer
For beginners, the Sword and Shield is the best choice. The forgiving perfect parry windows allow players to learn proper timing and its unique directional combat. Mercenary players have access to the hammer. The hammer is the secondary weapon of this class and can be used to inflict lots of crowd control or just raw damage. Both weapons are viable in PvP or PvE.

Best Solo Class: Blackarrow
Many players in the community consider the Blackarrow class to be one of the most infuriating matchups. This class offers tons of serious damage over time effects and amazing crowd control at a distance. Despite having only 1 weapon, the Blackarrow offers amazing build variety thanks to its skills that interact with one another. Beyond its suite of offensive options, the class is extremely mobile. The large distance its dodges can generate can make the difference in a PvP encounter.
Blackarrow Skills
The class lacks a secondary weapon and instead relies on a menagerie of different arrows to get the job done. The Spore Arrow is a popular choice thanks to the battlefield and positioning pressure it generates from receiving DoT effects. Paired with Barbed Arrows that, when augmented, can stun enemies. There are many more arrows as well as skills to choose from, allowing Blackarrow players to outfit themselves for any sort of encounter.

Best All-Rounder Class: Sorcerer
The Sorcerer is the best all-rounder with a high skill ceiling. It's great at everything except being mobile but has tons of spells to make up the difference. Sorcerers are amazing at damage and can also function as a DPS Support in trios. The class offers strong CC to shake off melee pursuers and is a lot of fun to play. Sorcerers can equip 2 skills from each type of Magic; this gives sorcerer players 6 devastating abilities that can be woven together to devastate enemy combatants.
Elementalist, Stardust, General Magic Explained
Sorcerers have access to 3 schools of magic. Elementalist magic has shorter cast times at the cost of limited range. It has several spells to help manage distance from melee enemies, such as Flameblade, which knocks enemies back. This type of magic also has access to wide AoE burst abilities like Thunderstorm Sigil, which is capable of dealing with crowds of enemies or zoning enemy players.
Stardust Magic has its own share of pros and cons. Players can recover Energy faster thanks to its passive as well as increased move speed during casting. However, spells take much longer to cast and consume much more resources. This school of magic offers amazing AoE CC like Gravitational Vortex, which sucks in enemies towards the center. With a great team to cover the class's inherent weaknesses, Stardust Torrent is essentially a flamethrower capable of liquifying enemies in a heartbeat.
Finally, General Magic focuses less on the class's combat aspect and more on its utility. Players have access to skills like Shadow Veil, which makes the sorcerer invisible for a pretty long time. This school of magic also has the Eye of Insight. This skill functions as an in-game wall hack, allowing the sorcerer to see the location of enemy players over a wide area. However, it only has a limited number of uses per match.
Best Support Class: Seer
While the Sorcerer moonlights as a support class, the Seer is the dedicated support class with healing abilities. But the Seer can do more than just heal. This class can go as an offensive support with melee abilities that give enemies tons of debuffs. Seers rely on Runes to augment their current weapon with devastating effects like severely reduced healing and more.
Reverent vs Blasphemer Seer
Seers have 2 weapons, each with its own unique skill set. Reverent is the ranged and support-oriented weapon of the Seer. While using the Reverent skill set, players can use the Punishment Rune, which functions as a turret when summoned. Another great ability Reverent Seers have access to is the Windwalker Rune. This ability reduces the dodge distance of enemies while increasing allied dodge distance.
The Blasphemer goes the complete opposite direction of Reverent. The Seer is equipped with a mace and is ready to deal tons of damage and debuffs. Blasphermers can use Impact Sigils to force enemies out of corners and cover. Afterward, wail on them with an assortment of devastating weapon runes.

Best PvP Class: Shadowstrix
The Shadowstrix is the best for PvP even after post-launch nerfs. Its mobility is second to none in the game and it also has a variety of tools and skills that can punish other melee characters. It's extremely flashy and any decent Shadowstrix player can easily punish backliners like Revenant Seers or Sorcerers.
Dagger and Dual Dagger
Shadowstrix has 2 weapons: dual daggers and a dagger. Dual daggers deal the bulk of the damage with abilities like Spinning Slash paired with passives like Wound Buildup. This pairing allows players to deal true damage to enemies after being hit 10 times.
The Dagger functions more as a utility tool. It has access to Crow Storm, which stops healing and inflicts major debuffs on enemies hit. Even post-nerfs to this ability, it is still widely used thanks to the sheer utility it provides in solo and trio.

Best for Experienced Players: Withered Knight
The Withered Knight is a truly devastating force on the battlefield. While some see it as a sidegrade to Mercenary, the Knight is something much more than that. It's capable of extreme burst damage and is the ideal choice for controlling the front line and the battle's tempo. It can easily deal with ranged opponents thanks to amazing dash skills and is even more terrifying for melee combatants because of Wither.
Greatsword vs Polearm and Shield
Both of the weapons the Knight has access to revolve around its Wither effect. The effect is applied after 3 light attacks and can be detonated with a heavy attack, dealing massive damage. The greatsword is a great platform for learning the class. It has a reliable gap closer and several skills to apply Wither reliably while also detonating it. Radiant Retribution all but guarantees that your next hit will apply Wither, turning any fight into a ticking time bomb for your opponent.
The Polearm and Shield turn the Knight into a utility team player, able to deal tons of staggers and directional pressure. With the shield, Withered Knights can easily take advantage of Super Armor, making them feel unfair to go up against. Skills like Spear Barrage turn fights into slaughters because of its stagger potential. Using it against enemies in a corner all but guarantees their demise.
