How to Unlock Dreglord in Elden Ring Nightreign: The Forsaken Hollows
Unlocking Dreglord is pretty straightforward. You’ll encounter Dreglord twice in the DLC. The first time you encounter him is when you enter the chapel behind the Small Jar Merchant. You’ll be accompanied by the 2 new Nightfarers, Scholar and Undertaker. You’ll lose in the first encounter since it’s part of the process to unlock the 2 new Nightfarers.
The second encounter is through the Boss Expedition. You’ll have access to the Dreglord’s Expedition by first defeating the Balancers. Dreglord will appear on the 3rd day of the expedition, where you’ll finally fight him.
Dreglord’s Weaknesses in Elden Ring Nightreign: The Forsaken Hollows
The unique thing about Dreglord is that it has no weaknesses. Compared to previous boss fights in the game, he’s considered the strongest. So if you want to take him on, it’s best to have your strongest weapons, max stats, and follow the strategies that are going to be talked about in this guide.
How to Beat Dreglord in Elden Ring Nightreign: The Forsaken Hollows
Now that you’ve unlocked the Dreglord, it’s time to understand how the Nightlord fights. Here’s a guide on how to beat Dreglord in Elden Ring Nightreign: The Forsaken Hollows.
Build Scarlet Rot Resistance
One significant attack you should avoid from the Dreglord is the ones that deal Scarlet Rot. The effect damage is just like Poison, but gets stronger over time. If you want to last long in the fight, stock up on Preserving Boluses, which can remove the Scarlet Rot Build Up.
You can also try to acquire the All Resistances Up Dormant Power to get resistance from any effect, including Scarlet Rot. Increasing your resistance to Scarlet Rot can also be done with the Immunizing Horn Charm and the Mottled Necklace. If you want to deal greater damage despite being inflicted with Scarlet Rot, use the Night of the Wise Relic or Kindred of Rot’s Exultation Talisman, which improves your attack power when inflicted by Scarlet Rot.
Get Glowstones and Save Flasks
Dreglord has two phases in the boss fight. To be prepared, increase your Flask Charges by interacting with Church Altars and get Glowstone. As much as you can use your Flasks and conservatively, since the fight with Dreglord is long. At least have 3 Flask Charges when you enter the second phase of the boss fight.
Deal Bleed Damage
If you want to deal the most damage during the fight with Dreglord, focus on Bleed Damage. It can take a massive portion of HP and will help you out in the second phase of the fight. Use melee characters that can inflict Bleed when facing Dreglord.
Watch Out for Delayed Slow Attacks
Dreglord uses an axe to attack, but the animation for the attacks is deceiving. Dreglord will wind up his axe attack as if he’s about to swing, but will take even longer. Try to watch out for the timing of the attack.
📌Note: If you use ranged Nightfarers, it’s best to maintain a distance, and if you’re a melee player, focus on attacking from behind. Dreglord uses plenty of AoE attacks, so practice your dodging.
Avoid Blood Bombs
Dreglord can create Blood Bombs that explode on impact. It’s best to avoid them entirely, since they deal a significant amount of damage. When Dreglord raises its hand to draw blood from the ground to create the bomb, you shoot it before it throws the bomb or run away to dodge the attack.
Deal with Dreglord’s Mobs
Once you’ve dealt damage to a third of Dreglord’s health, he’ll spawn zombies in the boss fight arena. The zombies are slow and can inflict Scarlet Rot. Try to clear them so you can focus on dealing with the boss.
📌Note: Dreglord will also spawn larger zombies that will deal greater damage, which will distract you in the fight. Use your ultimate ability to kill them and focus on the boss fight quickly.
Dreglord’s Resurrection as Pure Impulse Straghess
After you defeat Dreglord, he’ll resurrect himself as the Pure Impulse Straghess. The boss will have a second full HP bar. Avoid its AoE attacks when the boss jumps on the pillar. You can easily avoid them by looking out for small mounds that are on the ground.
While the boss is jumping around, use your Glowstones and Flasks since you’ll have some time to recover. You can still use the strategies mentioned above, but the second phase of the battle won’t have zombies. Dreglord will fight solo in the second phase.
