The anticipated Series 1 Festival Playlist has finally arrived in Forza Horizon 6, kicking off the "Welcome to Japan" summer Season. With the new challenges available, come new rewards, and players are already scrambling to finish the first Treasure Hunt. If you're trying to figure out how to complete the Ohtani Region Treasure Hunt, here's a complete guide on where to find the hidden chest in the game.
How to Find the Ohtani Region Treasure Chest Forza Horizon 6
In previous titles, you had to complete a specific PR stunt or race in a specific vehicle to reveal a red circle on the map. In FH6, the Series 1 "Welcome to Japan" Treasure Hunt only gives a photo clue. You'll need to drive to the location, find the chest, and smash it.
Here's the clue to the location: "Follow the Photo Clue to Discover the Treasure!" The photo clue is hinting at a Japanese Temple. If you're still not familiar with the game's map, here's how to get to the location.
Open the Map: Bring up your world map and press the left bumper (LB) to toggle the region view. Locate the Ohtani Region, where the main Horizon Festival site is located.
- Find the Dirt Trail: Look for an off-road dirt trail branching north off the main road in the southern part of the Ohtani Region. It sits directly between Mei's house and the Festival Site.
- Look for the Yellow Walls: Drive up the dirt trail until you hit a paved road lined with distinct yellow walls.
- Enter the Garden: Drive through the main gate into the Kinkaku-ji Temple's garden area.
- Loop the Lake: Follow the road as it loops around the scenic lake directly behind the temple. You will spot the wooden Treasure Chest, gracefully sitting on the path overlooking the pond.
Once the chest is in your sight, drive your car into it to smash it.
What are the Ohtani Region Treasure Hunt Rewards?
Smashing the treasure chest will instantly give you the following Festival Playlist rewards:
- 100,000 Credits (CR)
- 3 Festival Playlist Points
These points are crucial for unlocking this week's exclusive seasonal reward cars: the 1999 Toyota Altezza RS200 Z Edition (15 Festival Playlist Points) and the 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX MR (30 Festival Playlist Points). The CR you get from the chest is perfect for boosting your funds for your next JDM drift build! So if you haven't taken part in the event, you should do so before the event ends.
