The Diablo 2 of old had the Uber bosses as the final endgame challenge, along with valuable loot drops for those who wanted the prestige. Now with Diablo 2 Resurrected and the new Warlock classes, players can push their builds further with Terror Zones and Uber Ancients. Here are all the juicy details for Ressurected’s revitalized endgame.
Terror Zones
Every zone in Diablo 2 can be randomly afflicted with a Terrorized modifier, which causes it to be flooded with high-level demons that are 2 to 5 levels higher than your current level. This also increases the quality of loot dropped by slain monsters. You can also earn increased XP as the mob density and enemy levels guarantee a great leveling method. Act Bosses can also be affected by the Terrorized modifier, which causes them to drop special key items for an Uber boss.
To unlock Terrorized zones, you first must defeat Baal on Normal difficulty for the first time. This also applies to Nightmare and Hell difficulty. Next, you must opt in for the Terror Zones by enabling them in your settings. The chat log will notify you which zones are affected by the modifier.
A new reward, Sundered charms, only spawns from monsters in Terror Zones. These include:
- Black Cleft
- Monster Magic Immunity is Sundered
- Player Magic Resistance Lowered
- Bone Break
- Monster Physical Immunity is Sundered
- Player Physical Damage Received Increased
- Cold Rupture
- Monster Cold Immunity is Sundered

- Monster Lightning Immunity is Sundered
- Player Lightning Resistance Lowered
- Flame Rift
- Monster Fire Immunity is Sundered
- Player Fire Resistance Lowered

- Player Poison Resistance Lowered
Colossal Ancients
These Uber variants of the Ancients boss fight of Act 5 are the pinnacle content for Diablo 2. As mentioned earlier, you will need five statues dropped by Terrorized Act bosses. These are
- Talic’s Anguish
- Korlic’s Pain
- Madawc’s Ire
- Bul-Kathos’ Nightmare
- Worusk’s End
To summon the Colossal Ancients, interact with the Altar of the Heavens in the Arreat Summit while possessing all 5 statues. Talic will be immune to Fire damage, Korlic to Cold damage, and Madawc to Lightning damage. Killing an Ancient bestows the remaining Ancient’s abilities with additional effects.
Successfully beating the Colossal Ancients rewards you with special Jewels that come with Unique-level passives:
