Top 10 Best Borderlands 4 Legendary Weapons

Every Borderlands game has a lot of Legendary weapons to chase, and while some are pretty bad, others have become extremely powerful and meta-defining. To make sure you’re looking for the right Legendaries when they drop, this list will show you all the best weapons in Borderlands 4 and why they’re top-tier.

Top 10 Legendary Items

#1: Aegon’s Dream

  • Type: Assault Rifle

Aegon’s Dream is a Vladof assault rifle that fires both Incendiary and Cryo rounds at the same time without needing to switch elements, making this one of the most powerful weapons, especially for Amon, as he primarily utilizes these elements.

#2: Rainbow Vomit

  • Type: Shotgun

The Rainbow Vomit is the only weapon that fires 3 elements. These elements are randomized per drop, but this can potentially drop with Incendiary, Corrosive, and Shock damage, making this one of the best generalist weapons in the game and a powerful pick for Vex. `

#3: Hot Slugger

  • Type: Shotgun

This single-round shotgun deals incredibly high damage thanks to its on-kill perk that grants 30% more damage for 10s, up to 3 stacks. It also comes with the reliable Jakobs implicit that causes ricochet whenever you land a crit. With an infinite ammo build, this shotgun will reliably clear hordes of trash mobs.

#4: Noisy Cricket

  • Type: Pistol

The Noisy Cricket is a pistol that launches a sonic projectile, which explodes on impact, dealing purely Kinetic damage. This weapon is powerful, as it deals damage twice: once from the projectile and again from the explosion.

#5: Streamer

  • Type: Heavy Weapon

This Heavy Weapon Ordinance places stationary laser beams that deal rapid DPS to enemies caught within it. While it’s difficult to make full use of it against more mobile targets, it excels at killing immobile bosses or bosses that can be stunned. This is one of the best endgame Heavy weapons in the game right now.

#6: Complex Root

  • Type: Sniper Rifle

While it’s less useful against smaller trash mobs, this weapon can kill bosses with large hitboxes in seconds. This sniper rifle launches multiple projectiles per shot that linger for a short duration, dealing multiple damage ticks for every second that an enemy touches it. If shot against a large boss, landing all projectiles on a boss will deal multiple damage instances at once.

#7: Golden God

  • Type: Shotgun

This fully automatic shotgun has a unique effect where firing the weapon past its overheat point will not break the weapon, but instead cause it to consume more ammo per shot. This gives you an uninterrupted fire rate that ramps up.

#8: Bugbear

  • Type: Assault Rifle

Torgue weapons are powerful due to their additional explosive damage, but Bugbear does away with their traditionally slow-firing weapons and becomes a rapid-fire, explosive assault rifle. Its legendary effect is that its damage scales up to 100% and 200% damage radius as the magazine runs out.

#9: Armored Bod

  • Type: Shotgun

This weapon has no unique damage model or fire mode, but the Armored Bod is the only weapon that counts as an Assault Rifle, Shotgun, SMG, Sniper Rifle, and a Pistol in terms of synergy. This means that this weapon can benefit from any character that uses weapon-specific perks.

#10: Whiskey Foxtrot

  • Type: Assault Rifle

While the main firing mode for this weapon is a standard Vladof assault rifle, its underbarrel shotgun has a unique effect that causes enemies hit by it to take more damage. This makes it the perfect weapon for a damage rotation by swapping it out to a higher damage weapon, especially during teamplay sessions
