Throne and Liberty uses weather for more than just simple aesthetics and visibility functions. Many environmental interactions rely on the current climate. Rain occurs randomly throughout the day, and it’s required for certain locations to be accessible or available. It also provides certain benefits in terms of drop rates and environmental interactions. If you want to learn when the next cycle is or how to determine where it’s raining, this guide will show you how to spot the current weather for specific regions.
Throne and Liberty Weather Overview
The game features three types of weather that can occur in the game: sunny, rainy, and windy (weak or strong). Sunny is the default one, which indicates clear skies. Rain refers to a downpour in certain regions, while wind can vary in intensity, which affects certain aspects of the game. It should be noted that the weather can vary from region to region, so if you want to monitor whether it's raining or not, you have to check what location you’re in.
Weather Effects
The most noticeable effect of sunny weather is the availability of certain paths and access points to specific locations, which change immediately when it rains. One prime example would be the sewers underneath the castle. Players can use this pathway as an alternate assault point on a sunny day, but it becomes flooded and inaccessible when raining. Wind generally affects glide travel, which can help players reach higher altitudes.
Only Rain and Wind trigger specific environmental interactions. Using certain skills during a downpour will allow them to chain or bounce to multiple targets instead of just one. Meanwhile, the wind can increase the distance a projectile can cover depending on the intensity. These weather types can also increase the drop rate and spawn tables of certain items and monsters. However, all three can influence what kind of skills specific elites will have.
Rain Timer
Unfortunately, Rain has no specific schedule or timetable for when it's set to pour. However, you can predict whether there is a high probability of Rain occurring by calculating how long it’s been Sunny. Sunshine to Rain has a 4:1 ratio, in which the value of one equals 30 minutes. This shows that for every two hours of Sun, there should be a 30-minute instance of rain. However, this is not a set pattern but a probability, which means Sunshine can last longer than 2 hours without signs of any downpour.
Weather Control Skill “Transcending Power”
While Throne and Liberty doesn’t have a strict weather schedule, players can brute force the climate to their liking. Gamers can invoke Transcending Power abilities, which can alter the weather or the state of Night and Day, which takes effect for a certain period. However, obtaining these Master Skills requires you to fulfill tough conditions, and you only get temporary ownership of them.
You can gain access to three different Master Skills that have varying effects. The method to obtain each will also differ based on the rankings of specific leaderboards. Here are all the Transcending Power abilities and what they do:
Transcending Power: Gale
- Effect: Conjures powerful wind currents in the direction you’re facing for 10 minutes
- How to Get It: Reach the top of the Growth Ranking
Transcending Power: Heavy Rain
- Effect: Call forth Heavy Rain for 10 minutes
- How to Get It: Reach the top of the Activity Ranking
Transcending Power: Eclipse
- Effect: Invoke an Eclipse for 10 mins
- How to Get It: Reach the top of the Kill Ranking
It should be noted that possession of these Master Skills will shift depending on who the current top-ranking player is per server. All of them have a 12-hour cooldown and require 5 Commander’s Seal.
