Abiotic Factor incentivizes you to constantly move your base of operations, introducing nightly raids where enemies will attempt to assault your base and destroy your crafting bench. Since it’s hard to find the ideal base spot due to the GATE facility being so tight, this guide will help you pick the best spots to set up camp.
Best Office Sector Base Locations
Cafeteria (Level 1)
The cafeteria is very spacious and comes with a lot of amenities like vending machines for emergency food and drinks, sinks for a constant water source, and a stove for cooking. There is also a security room for setting up your bed, and it features a coffee machine inside, allowing you to stay caffeinated.
Plaza (Level 1)
The Plaza serves as the central hub, connecting to various sectors within the facility. This location has a fountain where you can fish for a steady supply of food and water. Warren Bunnings will also be nearby, giving you access to a trader.
Gym (Level 2)
By far the most defensible position in the Office Sector. This room has a one-way entrance, giving you a good chokepoint to funnel enemies into. Once you unlock turrets under the Base Defense category, you can farm up on enemy drops.
Note: This area is fairly small, so you don’t have much room to place stations in.
Best Manufacturing West Base Locations
Top of the F.O.R.G.E
The F.O.R.G.E is where you can find the Blacksmith, who has the widest selection of items to trade. The room where you can set up your base is to the right of the FORGE sign, where you can see a ladder leading up to the room. It is fairly secure, and it is located in the dead center of Manufacturing West, so you have easy access to every part of this facility.
Garage Portal Security Room
Near the Garages portion of Manufacturing, there is a security room next to a portal room where you can build your base. The portal will activate sometime down through the game and can serve as a shortcut between Manufacturing and Labs. There are a couple of amenities, like a charging station and a bathroom.
Best Labs Base Location
Wildlife Pens
The absolute best spot to build is the lab area overlooking the aquariums in the Wildlife Pens. It has plenty of space for you to set up stations with, and has an aquarium down below for fishing up food and purifying water. There is a bathroom downstairs for waste management. As a bonus, the area has a respawning Containment Bot that you can spawncamp with traps for farming scrap. This base can serve as your main base for the rest of the game since it gives you easy access to important resources.
