Black Myth: Wukong features a lot of unique systems and itemizations that let players scale in terms of power. While the game encourages gamers to obtain every possible thing that can empower them, several mechanics are hidden away and can only be discovered if you go out of your way. One helpful feature would be the Vessels, which are unique and powerful tools. You must find all four items to gain a considerable advantage in each fight and possess potent perks.

Black Myth: Wukong Vessels Overview
Vessels are wearable items that provide various perks and effects while using them. They provide additional buffs when you activate them, which is extremely useful in tight situations. We currently have four of them in the game, and only one can be obtained by progressing through the main quest line. Here are all the Vessels in Black Myth: Wukong.
Plantain Fan
- Effect on Equip: Moderately increase Stamina Recovery Rate
- Effect on Activation: Conjures a hurricane that knocks up enemies
Fireproof Mantle
- Effect on Equip: Increase Burn Resistance and Gain Immunity to Scorch from lava-covered areas
- Effect on Activation: Gain Burn Immunity and a slight increase in Focus
Wind Tamer
- Effect on Equip: Gain a slight increase in Damage Reduction
- Effect on Activation: Significantly boost your Damage Reduction for a short duration and gain immunity to solid winds
Weaver's Needle
- Effect on Equip: Gain a slight boost to your Critical Hit Chance and Damage
- Effect on Activation: Summons a Homing Needle that continuously chases enemies
Each Vessel consumes Qi during activation, so be cautious when using it. Gamers can't recover Qi very effectively, and you might need to visit a shrine or waypoint to replenish this resource sufficiently. Make sure to use them at the right time and situation.
How to Unlock All Black Myth: Wukong
Three of the four Vessels require you to enter secret areas and perform hidden activities to obtain them. Only the Plantain Fan can be obtained by progressing through the main story. Here is how you get all four Vessels:
Plantain Fan
This item is automatically obtained at the end of Chapter 5, which is given to you by Princess Iron Fan. You don't need to do any secret side quest or fulfill certain conditions because you only need to finish the whole chapter to get it. Since it's the best Vessel in the game, you probably won't use others until the end.
Fireproof Mantle
You can obtain this as early as Chapter 1, potentially the first one you can get if you don't skip it. You can get this after defeating Elder Jinchi in the Guanyin Temple, set in a distant period. After defeating this enemy, you’ll be transported back to the normal realm and receive the Fireproof Mantle.
You can access the secret area by ringing three bells in different regions. The first will be around the Forest of Wolves, where you fight Guangzhi. The second one is by the Bamboo Grove: Snake Trail, where you fight Guangmou. The bell should be up a few flights of stairs. The third one is at the Bamboo Grove: March of White Mist on the left side before entering the cave.
Wind Tamer
This Vessel has two unlock conditions, making it the most tedious. You’ll need to complete two quests located in different areas. The first requires you to free a petrified man from his curse, leading you to fight the Mother of Stones boss. After defeating her, the Man-in-Stone will offer you tons of wares for a price. You need to get a Sobering Stone from him for the second quest.
The second one requires you to find the Drunk Boar in the open area near Rockcrest Flat shrine. Give him the Sobering Stone, and he’ll change location. Once you see him, he’ll ask you for a Jade Lotus and change the area to the Crouching Tiger Temple. Once again, you can find him near the Rockcrest Flat, triggering a cutscene. You’ll fight a miniboss called the Yellow-Robed Squire, who will open the way to the Kingdom of Sahali.
You can obtain the Wind Tamer once you defeat the secret area's final boss, Fuban. This figure is a giant sand beetle with a large HP. He’s slow but has lethal attacks, so be prepared for the fight. Defeating him will give you the Wind Tamer and other rewards like the Fuban Armor set.
Weaver's Needle
Weaver's Needle unlocks for you after defeating three separate bosses. The first one you need to beat is the Venom Daoist boss near the Webbed Hollow. You must fight him in two instances because he runs away the first time. Afterward, he opens a path to the Purple Cloud Mountain.
Once in this area, you can meet the Scorpionlord, where you can force a fight with him by destroying the jars he told you not to touch. After defeating him, he’ll give you the Deathstinger and other accessories. After this, you can choose to fight The Duskveil boss at the Cloudnest Peak, who will reward you with the Weaver's Needle.
Which One is the Best Vessel
The best Vessel for most fights is the Plantain Fan because its activation effect works against most enemies. However, some vessels work best in certain situations and environments. Always study the terrain and patterns when fighting specific bosses to adjust your items accordingly.
