Throne and Liberty Greatsword Build Guide

Greatsword Build Guide

If you like playing the tank role in your MMORPGs the Greatsword weapon type may be your best bet in Throne and Liberty. For a weapon type that can deal a severe amount of heavy damage to enemies, the Greatsword can be a great combo for tank players. If you want to deal as much damage as possible in PvP or PvE, here’s a guide to help you right out.

Attributes

To start your Greatsword build, you’ll need to begin with your Star-born's Attributes. The Attributes you’ll need are Strength, Dexterity, Wisdom, and Perception. For this build, you’ll need to focus your Stat Points on Strength, to increase your melee weapon damage, resistance and HP; and Dexterity, to boost your Critical Hit Chance, Attack Speed, and Movement Speed. After focusing on Strength and Dexterity, you can put the remaining Stat Points into Wisdom and Perception, to improve mana and mana regeneration.

Here’s how to use your Stat Points on your Attributes:

Strength

Stat Points: 30

Effects: Provides max damage, max health, and an increase in health.

Dexterity

Stat Points: 30

Effects: Improves evasion, critical attacks, and max damage.

Perception

Stat Points: 19

Effects: Improves max damage and accuracy, provides boost time abilities and crowd control effects.

Wisdom

Stat Points: 10

Effects: Improves skill cooldown and max damage, determines mana and mana regeneration.

Weapons

The skills you can use in Throne and Liberty will depend on your character’s weapon types. For the Main Hand weapon, of course you’re going to use the Greatsword. This weapon has a selection of skills that deal a great amount of damage and comes with Crowd Control. In PvE situations, the Greatsword can be used to control the mobs of enemies surrounding your group, while in PvP you’ll be able to deal plenty of damage to enemy players.

To support the heavy damage the Greatsword provides, for your Off-Hand weapon, you should go with the Daggers, mainly for its poison damage. This poison will provide a second chance to proc damage with one of its skills and improve Critical Chance and Damage.

Weapon Mastery

In Throne and Liberty, the Weapon Mastery system will give you experience the more you use your weapon and the more kills you get. With this experience you’ll earn Weapon Mastery points that can be allocated to Weapon Mastery selection. On your journey, you’ll notice that the Main Hand weapon will gain more Weapon Mastery points than the off-hand one.

For your Greatsword, you’ll need to allocate 9 points into the Face Off selection to improve the overall damage and add heavy attack chance. The remaining 6 points will be invested in Incapacitate for the stun duration and extra damage.

Here are all the perks you can acquire when you unlock the selections for the Greatsword:

Murderous Draw

This will deal damage equal to 460% of Base Damage +266 to targets within a 4 meter radius.

Wrath Attacks cannot be defended. Players can use the directional buttons to defend against attacks while moving 4 meters in a designated direction for 0.5 seconds. After defending against a Fury or Wrath Attack, Charging Draw is activated for 3 seconds.

Charging Draw

This skill will charge at a target and deal 200% of Base Damage +122. When Charging Draw hits, it increases Magic, Melee, and Ranged Heavy Attack Chances by 150 for 3 seconds.

Players become Stealthed for 3 seconds and become undetected and their Mana Regen will increase by 450 after defending against a Fury or Wrath Attack. Block Blade will change to Poison Dagger. The first attack while Stealthed will be a Critical Hit, and the Stealth will end when attacking or the player morphs.

Poison Daggers

This will throw 5 daggers at a target within a 5 meter radius and will deal 100% damage and applies a Weaken: Poison. If there are multiple enemies the attack will be distributed.

Rotation

For your rotation you will need to start with DaVinci’s Courage to increase your health and boost your overall damage. Then you’ll buff yourself with Inject Venom to apply poison on all your attacks. When the target is pulled, use Willbreaker to debuff them, then use Valiant Brawl to stack the poison and deal high damage when it’s paired with 2 uses of Cleaving Moonlight.

After those skills, you follow up with Stunning Blow to apply the Shocked debuff and also increase the damage you do with Guillotine Blade. Then you can boost your damage again by using Ascending Slash and Prone your target while you are charging and using Death Blow. You can finish them off with Gaia Crash and Brutal Incision.

Guardian

Guardians act as your ultimate ability in Throne and Liberty. When using the Guardians, you’ll have to summon them and then your character will morph into them, with the unique ability lasting 30 seconds. It’s best to use your Guardian sparingly and only when the situation is dire rather than whenever you want.

For the Greatsword build, pick Lady Knight Kamarshea as your Guardian. She’ll provide your character with the necessary defense with her shield that’ll absorb damage equal to 50% of your Mana. When the shield is active your cooldown will gain a 40% speed boost. Since most of skills in the build focus on attacking, there is a gap in your defense, and Lady Knight Kamarshea will patch the gap with her shield. This shield ability is valuable and you should maintain it as long as possible to make the most out of the increased cooldown. The Guardian summon and morph will be lost if your shields deplete.
