Exact Throne and Liberty Honeypot Ant Location

While there are a lot of unique enemies in Throne and Liberty, the Honeypot Ant is one of those creatures that’s definitely worth farming. This elite enemy drops a lot of valuable rewards and is an objective for a specific exploration quest in the game. If you’re trying to complete the “Beginning of Misfortune” quest or just farming Honeypot Ants, this guide will show you exactly where to look for them.

Honeypot Ant Overview

The Honeypot Ant is a type of Wild Insect mob found in several locations, including a dungeon. Players mainly want to farm this enemy for the various ores and items that it can drop, including the acolyte set. While it's typically a reasonably common mob, some gamers have had some difficulty locating this target. There are also some bugs that prevent the Honeypot Ant from spawning, but for some, they just might be looking in the wrong places.

Beginning of Misfortune Questline Honeypot Ants Locations

The “Beginning of Misfortune” quest requires players to explore the Ant Nest. The main objective here is to find Honeypot Ants and eliminate them. There are precisely three locations that you can go to for these targets. If you’re having trouble looking for the quest objectives, here are the best-known locations for Honeypot Ants:

  • Location #1: The first location can be encountered just by going straight into the hallway where you spawn. Don't take any turns once you reach the open area, and be sure to go past the food storage area. If you follow the hallway above the Central Plaza, a Honeypot Ant should be on the right side.
  • Location #2: The second one should be on the Spawning Ground's center. After entering the area, trace the edges of the location until you spot the Honeypot Ant.
  • Location #3: The third one should be near the second location. The Honeypot Ant is located at the southside intersection connecting the Spawning Ground and the Central Plaza. If you look at the map, it should be between the two bottommost black areas, unpassable spots.

Aside from these areas, you can look for them on the east side of the map, but these will be random encounters. The Honeypot Ant won't be out and about immediately because they’ll be inside a glowing egg-like sac. It would help if you defeated the surrounding ants to lure them out of the cocoon, which is the real challenge. Make sure that you’re ready to fight swathes of enemies before starting the quest.

You’ll attract a lot of ants as you travel throughout the nest, so expect a lot of fighting as you make your way to the target locations. It’s a good idea to be constantly on the move while using attacks that can target multiple enemies simultaneously. Alternatively, you can use morphs to sneak past the hostile ants, specifically insects and crustacean types.

You only need to kill one of them to complete the quest objective, but you might have to explore a large portion of the area. There is a significant chance that the Honeypot Ants won't be in the known locations due to some bug or issues, so just keep going around the zone until you find one.

Other Locations for Honeypot Ants

Aside from the Ant Nest, you can also encounter the Honeypot Ants elsewhere. Even if you aren't doing the quest, you can still locate these enemies in the wild. If you want to farm Honeypot Ants, here are the locations you can find them:

  • The Verdant Forest
  • The Lush Meadows
  • The Sunny Hills

The best way to spot Honeypot Ants is to look for Worker Ants, which usually indicate a Honeypot nearby. The workers can frequently be found around blooming flowers as they harvest resources. An abundance of these ants indicates that a nest nearby will contain a Honeypot Ant.
