Complete Throne and Liberty Gigantrite Guide: Everything You Need to Know

Complete Throne and Liberty Gigantrite Guide

Throne and Liberty has many sights to behold. But one of the most notable is the Gigantrite hovering in the endless sky. The flying whale is the point of interest for many activities that can yield players several valuable drops. It also gives you access to several locations, so it's an excellent means of transportation. If you want to learn everything you can do regarding the Gigantrite, this guide will show you what to accomplish and what to focus on.

Throne and Liberty Gigantrite Overview

The Gigantrite is a colossal whale that flies over the world of Solisium. It follows pre-determined routes on different schedules, and you can wait for the creature to stop by at specific locations so that you can ride it. Aside from being able to hitch a ride, you can also get certain drops from it, especially if you complete the related quest.

Codex Quests: Little Friend in the Sky

One of the Codex Quests involves recovering a particular object from the back of the Gigantrite, and completing this task will unlock new drops from the creature. You can start this quest from the Nesting Grounds region. The quest description asks you to look for a doll somewhere in the sky, which refers to the flying whale.

The best way to get to the back of Gigantrite from this region is to use a grappling hook at the top of the Starlight Observatory Ruins. Climb the area's summit, wait for the flying whale to pass by, and use the grapple once it is close enough. You can check what time the colossus will arrive by referring to the content schedule.

The doll named Yeddy will be at the tail-end near the blue crystals on the left side of its body. Once you pick it up, return it to Tailor Noan in Kastleton Inn. Afterward, you’ll get the following rewards:

  • 4 Recovery Crystals
  • 7 Quality Passive Skill Growth Books
  • 8 Quality Polished Crystals
  • 7 Quality Armor Growthstones
  • 40,732 Sollant
  • 16,210 EXP points
  • Snow White Cutie Yeddy

Healing Gigantrite Wounds Milestone Event

Another task involving the Gigantrite requires you to help the creature recover from its wounds. During the time-limited Milestone Event, the flying whale will drop Divine Beast Crystals as it roams the sky. Players need to mine these drops to obtain specific materials, mainly Vialstones. You can use these items and return them to Gigantrite, which will react to the energy and produce Stellarite Elements.

After you have turned in 100 Vialstones, the whale will reward you with five mana potions and 10,000 Sollants. The Stellarite Elements you obtained can be used to make Stellarites. You can use this catalyst to unleash Astral Force, which deals bonus damage against targets. Outside this quest, you can still use Vialstones on the Whale to obtain Rare Marinds.

Riding Gigantrite and Farming Marind Ore

Aside from the two quests, you can also ride the back of Gigantrite for transportation or to farm certain resources. The flying whale spawns at specific intervals and takes different routes that can cover Laslan or Stonegard. Here are the spawn timers for Gigantrite:

  • 02:00
  • 05:00
  • 08:00
  • 11:00
  • 14:00
  • 17:00
  • 20:00
  • 23:00

Gigantrite can start traveling from three different locations, which would determine its pathing. The places you can board the whale will also differ depending on the route because you need to be at a high point along its path to hitch a ride. Here are all the known Gigantrite trails depending on the starting location:

Fonos Basin Starting Location

  • Route: Watcher's Post > Ruins of Turayne > Purelight Tower > Shattered Temple > Starlight Observatory Ruins > The Raging Winds > Grayclaw Forest > Canina Village > Manawastes > Sanctuary Oasis > Daybreak Shore > Saurodoma Island
  • Boarding Points: Purelight Tower, Starlight Observatory Ruins Boarding, and Velder Lookout

Kastleton Starting Location

  • Route: Kastleton > Windhill Shores > Starlight Observatory Ruins > Vienta Village > Monolith Wastelands > Stonegard Castle > Saurodoma Island
  • Boarding Points: Starlight Observatory and Stonegard Caste Walls

Stonegard Starting Location

  • Route: Stonegard Castle > Saurodoma > Daybreak Shores > Manawastes > Sandworm Lair > Abandoned Stonemason Town
  • Boarding Points: Stonegard Castle

Tips: The most notable stop here would be Saurodoma Island, the only place accessible by riding Gigantrite.

One of the few things you want to farm is Marind Ores, which are constantly on Gigantrite's back. This material is highly contested because many players need it and it has minimal farming methods. If you can get on the whale, you should take the time to farm all available ores before dismounting.

There are approximately six Marind Ores that have five-minute respawn timers. Fortunately, they aren't Global Nodes, which means they won't disappear if another player farms it ahead of you. You can also obtain Precious Marind Ore from these nodes.
