Throne and Liberty: Castle Siege Guide

Throne and Liberty: Castle Siege Guide

Castle Siege is a new PvP event in Throne and Liberty, in which teams need to capture the throne. The first Castle Siege event occurred on November 17 at 16:00 local server time. If you missed out on this big event, don’t worry! It’s going to be a monthly one. Here’s a guide to Castle Siege to prepare you for the next one!

What Is Castle Siege

Castle Siege is a PvP event where guilds and alliances will try to take over the Stoneguard Castle. There are two teams in the event, the Attackers and the Defenders. Both teams will have access to the same features. The Attackers’ objective is to capture the throne and secure more space to push back the Defenders. Meanwhile, the Defenders need to protect the throne and its capture zone from any Attackers.

How To Join Castle Siege

Players need to first join one of the eight guilds that are part of the two alliances in their server. The Guilds will likely recruit players days before the event to increase their chances of winning.

In the event players will receive a color to represent which side they’re on:

  • Red: Members of the opposing guild
  • Blue: Members of the same allegiance
  • Yellow: Guild that currently has hold of the throne.

Special members of the guild such as Staff Officers, Guardians, and Guild Leaders, have a special icon to distinguish them during the siege.

Castle Siege Stages

Castle Siege has three stages with each one having a time allotment. Here’s a walkthrough of the stages in Castle Siege.

Preparation Stage (16:00 – 16:15)

The Preparation Stage of Castle Siege begins at exactly 16:00. Each side will have 15 minutes to plan out their strategies to win. The NPCs in the Stoneguard Castle will despawn at the start of this stage, which means you can’t restock on items at this stage. So be prepared ahead of time!

PvP Stage (16:15 – 17:00)

Once the time hits 16:15 the PvP stage begins, and players will be teleported to their respective side. The Attackers will be teleported outside, and the Defenders will be sent inside the castle.

Attackers and Defenders will have until 17:00 to seize or defend the throne. There are various elements during the siege that can give an advantage that players should utilize.

Siege Ruins

Outside the castle there are 4 Siege Ruins that Guardian Ranked members from both sides can claim. The Ruins are teleportation waypoints and can summon Siege Golems. Since the Attackers have a 5-second head start, it’s almost guaranteed they’ll claim the Ruins first.

Once a team claims a Siege Ruin, they can summon golems with unique abilities that can change the tides of the game. Here are all the Golems and their abilities:

  • Stone Crasher: Destroys castle walls, gates, and towers, and can pick enemy players off the wall.
  • Battle Cruiser: Transports groups of players across castle walls.
  • Gate Hammer: Takes down walls, gates, and towers while reducing damage for nearby allies.
  • Jump Attacker: Puts pressure on scaling walls and attacks enemies near those positions.

Resurrection and Pillage Stones

Once players enter the castle, they can encounter Resurrection and Pillage Stones. These are crucial to obtaining space in the castle. Any guild member can capture the stones.

  • Resurrection Stones: can be used as a spawn point for players who are To prevent mass respawns, the stones have a timer.
  • Pillage Stones: used to gather Lucent and Sollant. The stones will give the currencies every 5 minutes. The team that has a claim on the throne can’t claim the Pillage Stones.

Alternate Paths

During the event, there are alternate ways to put pressure on the Defenders. If you’re looking for a sneaky way to enter, players can access the Sewer System below the castle and surprise the enemies. Due to the size of the system, it’s best to send players with a Dagger Build.

Another path players can take is by operating the three gate levers for the Outer Gate Wall, Inner Gate Wall, and Side Gate. Having access to these gates leaves the Defenders open. Each gate requires two players to operate and will require them to have cover. It’s best to have a Jump Attacker Golem accompany the players aiming for the three levers.

Throne Room

The crucial area of the PvP stage is the Throne Room, where the results of the siege will be decided. To claim the throne, the Guild Leader must interact with the throne, which will morph them into the Usurper.

They will become harder to kill and tasked to stay and survive within the throne’s area for 3 minutes. The Usurper needs to defend the position along with its members until the event is over to claim victory in the Castle Siege event.

Overtime Stage (17:00 – 17:03)

If the time reaches 17:00 and the Throne Room is still being contested, the Overtime Stage will begin. The teams will have 3 minutes to claim the Throne Room. The team that is currently holding the area at the end of the time limit wins the event.

Castle Siege Rewards

The winners of the event will be rewarded with Lucent and Sollant based on the percentage of the reserves in the Stoneguard Castle Vault. Aside from a great sum of money, they’ll also gain a reputation for being influential members of a top guild.
