The Sword and Shield weapon allows players wielding them to gain more defensive tools in their build, providing the best damage mitigation options out of all weapons. Using this, along with any other weapon, turns you into Throne and LIberty’s “tank” class, drawing aggro and soaking up damage for the team. Sword and Shield / Greatsword Build
If you want to spec out towards a full tank character, pairing the Sword and Shield with the Greatsword gives you the most mitigation options and overall longevity in PvE and PvP battles. Not only that, these weapons have plenty of crowd control skills to lock down groups of enemies. While this class has great utility, it doesn't deal as much damage and is particularly difficult for killing bosses due to its low DPS metrics. Still, it's a good frontline-focused build if you're an MMO tank main.

Sword and Shield / Staff Build
If you prefer a more battlemage-like class in Throne and Liberty, this class is versatile at all ranges and can dish out some high damage numbers. It has some quick cooldowns as well, making this weapon combo a fun DPS class. Sword and Shield / Wand and Tome
Many MMOs have a Paladin class that soaks up damage while also providing support for the rest of the party. This builds serves to emulate that classic role, as both weapons satisfy this class fantasy.
