The First Descendant Yujin Guide: How to Farm and Best Build

Yujin is one of The First Descendant’s support characters. He specializes in healing and buffs to teammates. In this article, we’ll look at Yujin’s backstory, a farming guide, his skills, and his best build including weapons, Reactors, and Modules.

Who is Yujin?

A doctor by profession, Yujin works at Albion’s only civilian hospital and later found himself enlisted in the military as a medic after his mother submitted an application for him alongside hers.

The fact that his mother had decided to take it upon herself to make a decision on his behalf and his new role as a medic led to arguments between the two. Not only that, but Yujin’s lazy and quick-tempered nature, made it hard for him to adjust to military life, leading to even more arguments.

During one such argument, Yujin basically told his mother that treating a patient with no hope of survival was worthless. This led her to remind him that as a doctor his job was to save people until the very end.

Those words left an impression on Yujin, but before more could be said, Yujin’s mother was called to the battlefield to help with the casualties caused by Vulgus. As soon as Yujin realized he wanted to apologize to his mother, he learned that she and the medical unit crew were among the casualties in the ongoing onslaught. Yujin then rushed to the battlefield to see his mother.

Upon coming to the field, Yujin saw his mother holding on by a thread. While holding her in his arms, she used her dying breath to remind him that he should treat patients until the very end.

With a heavy heart, Yujin vowed to never give up on his patients as long as they still had the will to live. This was put to the test when his commander, Gley, appeared after being missing for 100 days. Since she had been subjected to human experimentation by the Vulgus, she was a shell of her former self. Despite this, Yujin tried his best to save his commanding officer. In an attempt to physically restrain Gley, Yujin sustained injuries. In an effort to calm her, he reminded his superior that they shouldn’t give up until the very end, at which point, his Arche powers awakened.

How to Unlock Yujin

As with other Descendants, Yujin can be unlocked through the Store for the premium currency Caliber (as of this writing, Yujin is priced at 600 Caliber) or through crafting which requires you to obtain materials in the game and researching them through the Research Institute.

Here are the materials needed to craft Yujin:

  • Yujin Enhanced Cells
  • Yujin Stabilizer
  • Yujin Spiral Catalyst
  • Yujin Code

You will also need at least 600,000 Gold to research all the needed items and Yujin himself.

Playstyle – How to Farm and Level Up

Since Yujin is primarily a healer, it’s best to not use him for solo grinds. However, Yujin is best paired with an offense-centered character like Bunny or Valby to maximize his support. It’s best to farm for his best Modules, Reactors, and weapons early so you can deal some support damage to enemies.

Level up Modules, including weapon mods, to gain maximum benefit from them.

Remember to use his ally buffs and enemy debuffs.

It’s also best to focus on upgrading the ATK power, Critical Hit, Critical Damage, Fire Rate, and Weak Point Damage of your firearm(s). Doing so will greatly help you in the long run.

Skills

Yujin has five skills, one passive and four active. Here is the list of skills Yujin can use.

  • Solidarity Healing: A Recover Drone is summoned which attaches to Yujin’s allies to heal them. The drone recovers HP to its target and increases their ATK by 34% using an Accelerant.
  • Restructure Serum: A Restructure Serum is fired forward, decreasing enemy DEF and inflicting Allergy. Attacking enemies with Allergy heals nearby allies while defeating enemies with Allergy heals Yujin.
  • Stimulant Spray: Grants Stimulation effect to nearby allies which heals them proportional to the number of times they were hit with the effect.
  • Hyperreactive Healing: Heals self and allies within a circular range and grants Purification, which removes debuffs, and Immunity which prevents debuffs. Yujin is then granted an increase in ATK and Skill Power through the Hyper Activity
  • Stop Overreacting (Passive): Greatly reduces the time it takes to heal a downed ally/allies. Allies healed gain Additional Prescription which increases Max HP for 10 seconds.

Best Modules

Modules enhance the Descendant’s performance and augments their skills and stats. Here is the complete list of Modules you need for Yujin:

  • Battle of Stamina: Max HP and Skill Duration increase.
  • Skill Extension: Skill Duration increase.
  • Time Distribution: Cooldown Reduction and Max HP increase.
  • Energy Collection: MP Recovery increase.
  • Emergency Measures: Skill Critical Hit Rate and Critical Damage increase.
  • Shortsword: Changes Sub-Attack to a Shortsword and increases Module Capacity. Can be changed to any Sub-Attack Module that increases Module Capacity.
  • Nimble Fingers: Cooldown Reduction.
  • Skill Expansion: Skill Range increase.
  • Passionate Sponsor: Allies buffed or recovered will grant Yujin a Firearm ATK and Skill Power increase for five seconds. This stacks up to 10 times.
  • Skill Simplification: Skill Power increase, Max MP reduction.
  • Medical Support: HP Heal improvement.

Best Weapons

Yujin benefits from three Firearms: Thunder Cage Submachine Gun, Nazeistra’s Devotion, and Tamer. Here are the reasons why they are good for Yujin:

  • Thunder Cage Submachine Gun: The Overcharge effect does a great deal of AOE debuff on Yujin’s targets. Overcharge activates after defeating an enemy and creates a shockwave within a three-meter radius. Succeeding firearm hits after the shockwave deal increased damage. [Best weapon mods: Hawk-Eye, Rifling Reinforcement, Concentrate Support Ammo, Action and Reaction, Marksman, Weak Point Sight, Fire Rate Up]
  • Nazeistra’s Devotion: Hitting the enemy’s Weak Point decreases their DEF by 30% for three seconds. [Best weapon mods: Rifling Reinforcement, Better Insight, Better Concentration, Vibration Absorption, Fire Rate Up, Hawk-Eye, Expand Impact Magazine]
  • Tamer: This rare machine gun is great for Colossus battles. [Best weapon mods: Rifling Reinforcement, (Attribute: Fire, Electric, Chill, or Toxic) Enhancement, Action and Reaction, Weak Point Insight, Weak Point Sight, Fire Rate Up]

Best Reactor Stats for Yujin

Since Yujin is a Non-Attribute Descendant, his best Reactor is Materialized. From this, you have two options to choose from:

  • Materialized Mixture: Boosts Non-Attribute and Fusion type (Restructure Serum, Hyperreactive Healing Ground)
  • Materialized Singularity: Boosts Non-Attribute and Singular type (Solidarity Healing, Stimulant Spray)

Choosing the right Reactor will depend on the Skills you want to boost. Materialized Mixture is a good way to go since it boosts the AOE healing Hyperreactive Healing Ground.

You can also opt to have Reactors either from Mixture or Materialized as either types can boost Hyperreactive Healing Ground.
