Enzo is one of the Support characters in The First Descendant. His philosophy of winning battles through an efficient supply flow means he cares about his team as much as he wants to win battles. In this article, we’ll look at Enzo’s backstory, how to farm, and his best build.
Who is Enzo?
The former quartermaster during the Agna Desert Defense Operation, Enzo was tasked to bring supplies to the besieged 44th Grenadier Squad, which included his lone surviving blood relative, Lepic. It was during this supply run that tragedy struck Enzo.
Enzo and his crew drove to the desert to bring the much-needed supplies to the besieged squard. However, before they could reach their destination the Vulgus ambushed the Supply Squad’s vehicle, causing it to lose all the ammunition in the ensuing explosion. In a moment of despair, Enzo blamed himself for not being able to deliver the supplies to his teammates.
It was in this feeling of hopelessness that Enzo’s Arche powers, or unique abilities, awakened. Enzo’s Arche power—Inorganic Matter Spatial Awareness Summoning—caused ammunition from a faraway Albion ammo depot to appear before him.
Thinking this was the supplies he lost, Enzo hurriedly made his way to the 44th squad. By some miracle, Enzo defeated the ambushing Vulgus by himself and successfully delivered the supplies. However, before he could celebrate, he saw what had become of the 44th squad.
Much of the 44th Grenadier Squad was wiped out, except for Lepic who lost his right arm. The heroics of the last grenadier made him a Descendant, butut, for Enzo, it was something he regretted. If only the Vulgus hadn’t mbushed his supply vehicle, then he could’ve saved more lives.
Now, as a Descendant, he vows to deliver soldiers in need of supplies by himself. He would never allow the same tragedy to befall again.
How to Unlock Enzo
Unlike Bunny who can be unlocked through a mission, Enzo requires grinding the game for loot and materials. Alternatively, he can be unlocked through the Store for Caliber, the premium currency of The First Descendant.
To craft Enzo, you should obtain the following items:
- Enzo Enhanced Cells
- Enzo Stabilizer
- Enzo Spiral Catalyst
- Enzo Code
You must have at least 600,000 Gold to craft Enzo, this includes the cost for researching the Enzo items.
Playstyle – How to Level Up and Farm
As a support character, Enzo thrives on providing aid to the team. Even with the best firearms equipped, Enzo still lacks in damage output . Therefore, to level up and farm for his best equipment, Enzo should be played within a party. Alternatively, you can farm for his best equipment early on if grinding solo. However, it’s not recommended to do the solo route since it will be a bit difficult to do damage to enemies without a decent damage-dealing Skill. Relying on Firearms will just prolong the encounters.
That said, using heavy weapons will be Enzo’s greatest advantage over other characters since he can resupply ammo for him and his team. His DPS is decent but not enough to shine in a solo grind, you can use heavy weapons to compensate for the lackluster damage output.
Skills
Every character in The First Descendant has five skills, one of which is a passive, and the rest are active. Here is the skill list of Enzo:
- Start Supply: A Bullet Supplying Device is summoned at a target location. It supplies ammo to allies that go near the device. The device disappears after everyone in the party has used it or if its timer runs out.
- Explosive Drone: An Explosive Drone is launched and deals damage when it comes into contact with an enemy or terrain object.
- Enhance Combat Suit: A Shield Recovery Comms is summoned. This recovers Enzo’s Energy Shield.
- Perfect Support: A Small Supply Ship is summoned. This supply ship periodically replenishes ammo for you and your allies. It also gives buffs to Firearm ATK, Firearm Critical Hit Rate, and Reload Time through the Perfect Support effect. The Small Supply Ship also fires towards enemies with the last shot being a missile that hits the target for burst damage.
- Fire Support (Passive): Provides allies with an increased ammo capacity. Unique to this is that if there are multiple Enzos in the party, the effect stacks. The initial stack is at 10% for General and Special Rounds while Impact and High-Power Rounds have an initial stack of 20%. When there are multiple Enzos in the party, a 4% increase is applied for each Enzo.
Best Modules
Modules greatly enhance your character's overall performance. Because of this, it is recommended that you get them as soon as possible to benefit from it early in the game.
Here is the list of the best Modules for Enzo:
- Increased Shield: Increases Max Shield
- Increased DEF: Increases DEF stat
- Nimble Fingers: Cooldown Reduction
- [Attribute] Antibody: Increases Resistance to [Attribute: Fire, Chill, Electric, Toxic]. Change [Attribute] depending on the attack element of the Colossus. If you’re not engaging in a battle against a Colossus, you can leave this empty or use another Module.
- Skill Extension: Increase Skill Duration
- Shock Punch: Changes Sub-Attack to a Shock Punch and increases Module Capacity. Can be substituted with a different Sub-Attack Module if it increases Module Capacity
- HP Conversion (Shield): Reduces Max HP but increases Max Shield
- Time Distribution: Cooldown Reduction and Max HP Increase
- Energy Collection: Increase MP recovery
- Maximize Duration: Improves Skill Duration but reduces Skill Power.
- Sensory Dep (HP): Reduces incoming damage and Max HP.
Best Weapons
Enzo has three choices for Firearms: Thunder Cage Submachine Gun, Guardian R4, and Nazeistra’s Devotion. Here are the reasons why these are great for Enzo:
- Thunder Cage Submachine Gun: A high DPS Firearm that releases a shockwave when enemies are defeated. The shockwave has an effective range of three meters. Succeeding attacks from this Firearm has an additional 150% damage within the radius of the shockwave. [Best weapon mods: Hawk-Eye, Rifling Reinforcement, Concentrate Support Ammo, Action and Reaction, Marksman, Weak Point Sight, and Fire Rate Up]
- Guardian R4: Because of Enzo’s ability to resupply ammo, the Guardian R4 is a usable weapon not only for Enzo but to his party. Its high DPS is an enticing deal. [Best weapon mods: (Attribute: Fire, Chill, Electric, or Toxic) Enhancement, Rifling Reinforcement, Strengthen First Shot, Slow Art, Recycling Genius, Reload Expert]
- Nazeitra’s Devotion: Perfect sidearm for Enzo if you have near-perfect aim as it rewards you with a 30% defense reduction for three seconds when you hit an enemy in their Weak Point. [Best weapon mods: Rifling Reinforcement, Better Insight, Better Concentration, Vibration Absorption, Fire Rate Up, Hawk-Eye, Expand Impact Magazine]
Best Reactors
Reactors, like Modules, enhance the performance of your character. Since Enzo is Non-Attribute, his best reactors should be Non-Attribute as well. There are two Reactors that fit this category:
- Materialized Singularity: Enhances Non-Attribute and Singular Skills (Start Supply, Perfect Support)
- Materialized Phase: Enhances Non-Attribute and Dimension Skills (Explosive Drone, Enhance Combat Suit)
Choosing the right Reactor will depend on the build you want, or if you’re in a party or grinding solo.
