All Marvel Rivals Playable Characters List

Marvel Rivals has 33 confirmed heroes arriving in the game and each of them has a defined role for damage, tanking, and support, with some combining two roles. Here’s the list of all the playable characters and a short overview of their abilities and playstyle.

Vanguard

  • Captain America
    • A frontline tank who can use his shield to block projectiles and launch enemies with his Vibranium shield
  • Doctor Strange
    • Caster tank with some utility skills like a two-way portal, hard crowd control, and a frontal shield to protect his allies with.
  • Groot
    • A support tank that can assemble wood walls that buff the maximum health of nearby allies, attack enemies, and pull them toward a targeted area.
  • Hulk
    • A support and crowd control tank package in one character. Dealing damage as Bruce generates energy to transform as either the support tank Hero Hulk or the offensive crowd control tank Monster Hulk.
  • Magneto
    • Barrier tank that can block enemy projectiles to fuel his offensive The more projectiles he blocks, the more damage he can deal in return.
  • Peni Parker
    • An aerial denial tank hero who can set up mines, traps, and webs to control the space between her and the enemy team. Her webs also have a support effect that boosts movement speed.
  • Thor
    • A close-ranged brawler that can generate a unique resource called Thorforce. Thorforce can be consumed to enhance his primary weapon with extra lightning to gain Maximum Health
  • Venom
    • A mobile tank with crowd-control abilities to sow chaos in enemy ranks. Venom uses his tentacles to slow enemies, and he can slam down from a great height to knock enemies up in the air.

Duelist

  • Black Panther
    • Close-ranged assassin hero who emphasizes hit-and-run tactics with his multiple movement abilities. His abilities apply a Vibranium Mark that, when hit with his lunge skill, grants him bonus health and a cooldown reset for his lunge.
  • Black Widow
    • The primary “sniper” hero in the game. She has a hybrid melee kit to keep enemies away, including a kick that knocks enemies away, stun batons to fight back in melee, and an AoE slow skill to make her targets easy to hit.
  • Hawkeye
    • Ranged DPS hero with a high-powered bow and the ability to create afterimages of enemies. If Hawkeye hits an Afterimage, the damage is transferred to the corresponding enemy.
  • Hela
    • A mobility DPS hero who can deal a lot of AoE damage from above while stunning enemies with her Soul Drainer.
  • Iron Fist
    • Melee DPS hero with an emphasis on delivering blistering fast punches for high burst damage. He also has a defensive block and self-healing to keep him alive in the frontline.
  • Iron Man
    • Ranged DPS hero with an empowering mechanic that lets his primary weapon and abilities do more damage for a short duration.
  • Magik
    • Melee brawler hero with a powered-up transformation mode that makes all her abilities do more damage.
  • Moon Knight
    • A ranged DPS hero who can ricochet his projectiles between enemy players. His ultimate opens up a portal above a position to rain down shots from a safe distance.
  • Namor
    • Ranged DPS hero with a summonable companion. He can root enemies in place and flush them out of their position, setting up for the entire team to deal free damage.
  • Psylocke
    • A stealth-based flanker DPS hero. She deals high burst damage at melee range and can quickly escape with her invisibility skill.
  • Scarlet Witch
    • A ranged caster DPS hero with a unique resource called Chaos Energy. Hitting targets with her primary fuels her abilities with more damage.
  • Spider-Man
    • A DPS hero with a lot of crowd-control effects. While he can inflict stun on enemy champions, he can also pull an enemy hero towards him, allowing him to isolate priority targets.
  • Squirrel Girl
    • A ranged DPS hero. Squirrel Girl can summon squirrels to deal damage for her or root enemies in place, all while ignoring ability cooldowns for a short duration.
  • Star-Lord
    • Pure mobility ranged DPS hero with plenty of aerial maneuvers and dashes to chase down or run from enemies.
  • Storm
    • With a mix of crowd-control and support-oriented skills, Storm can pull enemies in while simultaneously granting bonus movement speed and damage to her allies within her skill range.
  • The Punisher
    • The classic “FPS soldier” archetype, he can throw grenades, wield a shotgun or assault rifle, and call down turrets that automatically shoot nearby enemies.
  • Winter Soldier
    • Ranged assassin hero with an execute mechanic that instantly kills enemies below a certain health threshold. Winter Solider can pull enemies towards him with his bionic arm and follow up with a punch that inflicts Slow.
  • Wolverine
    • As a purely offensive melee DPS, Wolverine has access to a leap that enhances his main claws with more damage. He also has access to a strong passive health regeneration effect and instant damage reduction.

Strategist

  • Adam Warlock
    • The classic healer archetype as he can heal directly and revive downed teammates.
  • Cloak and Dagger
    • A hybrid support and DPS character. Players can switch between the healing-oriented Dagger and the offensive-focused Cloak by pressing Shift.
  • Jeff the Land Shark
    • Crowd control-oriented support champion who can lock down priority targets while providing healing for his allies.
  • Loki
    • A spy support hero who uses deception against his enemies. He can use Invisibility, disguise himself as an enemy hero, and create illusory clones of himself.
  • Luna Storm
    • An AoE support hero that can switch between a passive healing aura or damage boosting aura. Her damage abilities heal her for every enemy she hits.
  • Mantis
    • Multipurpose support hero with a resource that can either provide health regeneration, one-time healing, or a damage boost. She can apply these effects to either herself or a targeted ally.
  • Rocket Racoon
    • Buff-based support hero who can grant bonus damage, armor, heals, and revives to all his allies passively.
