Ranking Rules

When you’re just starting out, Bronze and Silver are treated as one combined rank, so you’ll be matching up with players in both Bronze and Silver. If you’re playing with friends, you can squad up, but everyone has to be in adjacent ranks. For example, a Platinum player can join up with friends who are either Gold or Diamond ranked.

Once you hit Diamond III, things get real with the introduction of the hero ban system. Certain overpowered heroes will be banned for the match, keeping things fair and balanced.

After hitting Eternity, your rank will slowly start to decay if you don’t keep up. If you take too long to play or rack up losses, you could be demoted. But the ultimate challenge is reaching One Above All—this is for the Top 500 players in the game, so it’s not for the faint of heart.

To keep your rank safe, you’ll get Chrono Shields once you hit certain ranks. These shields protect you from losing rank after a loss, making it easier to maintain your position. But be careful! Chrono Shields are limited, so use them wisely to avoid dropping rank after a losing streak.

Meta Heroes for Ranking

Like in most competitive games, some heroes just dominate the meta, making it easier to rank up. Here are a few you’ll want to consider for your climb:

• Venom: One of the tankiest heroes, Venom regenerates damage and dishes out crowd control, making him a beast in battle.
• Luna Storm: Super easy to play and can boost her team’s health regen or damage. A must-pick for those big teamfights.
• Magneto: Plays defensively and rewards you with burst damage. If you block enough projectiles, his Mag-Cannon hits even harder.
• Adam Warlock: A support hero who can revive teammates, making him a game-changer for your team.
• Spider-Man: Perfect for DPS players—fast, agile, and can dish out massive damage at close range. He’s tough to pin down, and once you get good with him, you’ll be a nightmare to fight.
