Lost Ark Vykas Legion Raid Gate 1 Guide

Vykas Gate 1

Vykas Legion Raid in Lost Ark is the second component of end-game content released in June's major update. Aside from Vykas Legion Raid, AGS also released a new guardian raid boss, tier 3 tower, event island, and many more. The lore of the raid is that Vykas has leadd the covetous Legion and has the power to bring out the worst of Human Nature. She uses her beauty to control people's desires and use them accordingly. You will first encounter this boss on the main questline called 'Prove My Worth,' which can be found in Anikka. Unlike Valtan Legion Raid, this raid has three gates that drop relic-rade accessories, ability stones, engraving books, and materials to complete your relic-grade sets.

Requirements

The required item level for Vykas Raid is at least iLVL 1430 (Normal) and 1460 (Hard). The difference between the two modes is the number of materials they yield and added boss mechanics. Please note that you will need at least four runs (1 month) to complete all your relic-grade equipment.

Equipment

You will want to focus on having the maximum attack power output if you're designated as DPSer of the party or focus on improving your shields and heal as support. You will need at least 4-5 level 3 engravings, level 7 gems, and level 3-4 tripods to maximize survivability and damage.

Party Composition

  • DPS
  • DPS
  • Gunlancer/Destroyer
  • Support

Any party composition will do as long as they synergize with each other, but having good support and a tank in your team will help you clear this raid much quicker.

Recommended Combat Items

Combat items are essential and can be helpful for you to survive, especially in a tight situation.

  • HP Potion: Every Legion/Abyssal Raid requires you to have at least blue or purple hp potions.
  • Whirlwind Bomb: This is useful for the stagger wipe check mechanics I'll explain later.
  • Time Stop Potion: This is useful to avoid certain attacks that potentially can kill you.
  • Speed Mantile: This is optional and recommended for low-moving classes for juggling the orbs later.

Sidereal Skills

As mentioned in my previous Valtan Raid Guide, sidereal skills help you get through a given boss pattern. As for this first phase, you will only need one particular sidereal skill: Nineveh. Remember that only the raid leader can activate any of these skills, so communication is key to using them effectively. You can also pass the leadership to another member if the raid leader dies. These are the sidereal skills in this raid:

Nineveh (CTRL+Z)

Nineveh is similar to Thirain's sidereal, which deals enormous damage to the boss. In addition, Nineveh denies buff-like shields, which will be helpful in Phase 3.

Wei (CTRL+X)

Similar to valtan, this is used to deal significant stagger damage. There is a stagger check for Phase 1, but four people with whirlwind bombs can do it.

Azena/Innana (CTRL+C)

This serves as a defensive skill that is quite similar to Balthorr in Valtan Raid. It reduces the damage taken by the party and slightly heals everyone.

Position

This raid is a position-heavy dependent, and players should take specific positions on the map. These will be needed for the mechanics at x48, x36, and x13 health bar. The simplest way to do this is to do (Party number x 3) = position. For example, if you're number 2, you will be at the 7 o'clock. Please note that positions are 1, 5, 7, and 11.

Boss Mechanics

You and other party members will fight the boss until x55 HP, and they will separate you. One of the parties has to face the Human, and the other fights with the Demon form. This is totally random. Additionally, on the demon boss, you just need to deal DPS and dodge his attack by standing inside the purple zone. Moreover, the human boss contains all the mechanics and should be completed for both the raid to survive until the very last health bar.

1st Wipe Mechanic (x48 Health Bar)

The human boss teleports to the middle and summons a white circle around it. Players should take positions as indicated in the preparation phase while ensuring they stand within the circle. After the boss does an explosion, the circle disappears, and players can move further away from the boss.

After the explosion attack, four orbs will spawn at your designated position and will start to follow the closest player. At the same time, four doors will spawn at the same clockwise position that is a bit farther away from the orb spawn location. Your goal here is to make the orb go through a proper door. However, the tricky part is putting the designated color of the orb in the door. Each door only accepts a specific colored orb while the orbs change color constantly.

As for the orbs' color, they change every 3 seconds and follow a specific order: red, blue, green, white, black, and then repeat. To succeed in this mechanic, you need at least three orbs to go through the respective doors before they make two complete rotations. If you fail this, the party will get wiped.

Note: All four colors will always be present. For instance, the door at 1 and 7 o clock will accept either green or red orbs, while the doors at 5 and 11 o'clock will accept either blue or white.

2nd Wipe Mechanic (x36 Health Bar)

In this part, the demon boss party keeps fighting their boss and should only keep an eye out for the call out from the human boss party.

First, the boss teleports to the middle and begins a stagger check. All must throw whirlwind grenades and use their highest stagger skill damage. Then, after succeeding in the stagger check, players must take their designated position. Each player will have a small orb on their head which is either blue or black.

Four auras will spawn at the same position in the 1st wipe mechanic when the orbs appear on players' heads. The 1 and 7 o'clock auras will be black, while the 5 and 11 ones will be blue. Players should take positions and switch positions with the closest player if necessary after the orbs spawn above their head. The goal is for players with blue orbs on their heads needs to be next to a blue aura.

Once you've done it, these auras will rotate four times, either clockwise or counterclockwise. Keep close eyes on the auras and memorize the rotation. After you've seen the pattern, orbs will spawn, and you must follow the pattern and pick up a total of 5 orbs to succeed in this step.

After that, the human boss will make one large telegraphed attack targeting the inside or outside of the arena. Do note that this won't damage the human boss party, but you need to tell the demon party where the safe spot is. Typing 'safe inside' or 'safe outside' in the raid chat is your responsibility, or else they will get wiped.

Switch (x30 Health Bar)

When both bosses reach 30 HP, the parties will switch. Since the demon boss is tankier compared to the human boss, make sure the demon boss has the raid leadership to summon Nineveh sidereal twice in one instance. After the switch, make sure to pass the leadership to the demon boss party.

3rd Wipe Mechanic (x25 Health Bar)

When the human boss reaches x25 health bar, it will spawn four large circles at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions. You just need to find where is the white circle and call it out in the raid chat. The party fighting the human boss does not need to go into any of these circles.

Last Wipe Mechanic (x13 Health Bar)

This is the same mechanic as the x36 health bar which you need to stagger the boss, get the orbs, and inform the other party where is the safe zone. After completing this mechanic, it all goes down to depleting both bosses' HP bar to zero. Take note that at x5 health bar, he will gain a rage phase that is dangerous due to its stronger and faster attacks. Moreover, neither of the bosses will die, unless the other dies too.

Hard Mode Mechanic

In hard mode, there is an extra wipe mechanic that will occur randomly after split. The boss teleports to the middle and starts casting a strong attack with the safe zone being next to the boss. While inside the safe zone, players should take positions indicated in the preparation phase. Four orbs will spawn at 1, 5, 7, and 11 o'clock positions and start following the closest player. Each player should take their orb just outside of the initial safe zone and pick it up.

When you picked it up, a 90-degree golden zone will appear as well as a whirlwind that indicates the rotation which is either clockwise or counterclockwise. Stand in the zone and rotate an additional 3 times to avoid the boss shockwave attack.

Note:

You can survive the attack with 2-3 light stacks if your support has his awakening up.\

Summary:

  • x60 HP = Encounter
  • x55 HP = Split into Demon and Human form
  • x48 HP = Human only: Orb Phase
  • x36 HP = Human only: Stagger + Rotation
  • x30 HP = Switch
  • x25 HP = Safe Spot
  • x13 HP = Human only: Stagger + Rotation
  • x5 HP = Enhanced Phase

Overall, this raid requires precise movement and clear communication. If you liked this guide, stay tuned for my Vykas Legion Raid Gate 2 Guide.
