Fortnite All Academy Tech Lab Locations and How to Open Them

Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 has added plenty of new content to the superhero-themed update. Aside from challenging boss battles, players can also get a hold of Hero Items to win. Academy Tech Labs provides players with all the loot they need if they want to win. Here’s a guide on every Academy Tech Lab location and how to unlock them. 

What is the Academy Tech Lab

Academy Tech Labs are essentially Chapter 6 Season 3’s version of Black Markets. The only requirement is that players need to unlock them to get the loot inside. The Tech Labs have various locked rooms that require their Hero Rank. Each room has a Rank displayed at the door, and if the player meets the rank requirement, they can get all the loot inside. Players will get Hero Caches, Academy Stands, and various items they can purchase for Gold Bars. 

How to Open Academy Tech Labs’ Rooms

The Academy Tech Labs’ rooms can only be opened if the player meets the rank requirement the room is displaying. At the door of the room, the Rank requirement is displayed. 

If you want to open the high-ranked doors, you’ll need to increase your Hero Rank. Here are ways you can increase your Hero Rank.

• Knock & Eliminate players (75/100 XP)
• Survive storm phases (100 XP, +25 for each phase after the first)
• Take a Sprite to a Shrine (250 XP)
• Destroy Scout Spire (250 XP)
• Eliminate Henchmen (25 XP)
• Eliminate Bosses (1,500 XP)

Note: If you want to Reach S+ Rank in the Battle Royale, you’ll need to eliminate at least 20 players.

All Academy Tech Lab Locations 

If you plan on visiting an Academy Tech Lab in each match, visiting the Academy Tech Lab Bunkers is your safe bet. In each match, there are 4 available Academy Tech Labs spread across the map. The locations are indicated on the map as soon as you board the Battle Bus. Their markers are beakers with a health sign. There are no requirements to enter the Academy Tech Labs since all of them are open at the start of the match. The Academy Tech Labs all have the first room unlocked, but they also contain a locked room that A-Level Hero Ranked players can access. 

Aside from the 4 Academy Tech Lab Bunker locations spread across the map, there’s another location at the Supernova Academy. If players head to this Tech Lab, if they have low Hero Ranks, they have access to locked rooms with loot. 

Note: Be careful; the Academy Tech Lab in the Supernova Academy may be a hot spot at the start of the game since any low-rank player can get loot from their rank-adjacent locked rooms.
