Final Fantasy XIV Alchemist Leveling Guide

Alchemist Leveling Guide

Content

Final Fantasy XIV is not just about looting treasure chests or slaying god-like beings. The popular MMO also offers players a chance to get rich by crafting thousands of items, which they can sell for tons of Gil. Tradeskills are a peaceful alternative to diving into dungeons and putting gamers’ lives in danger. Alchemy is one particular Disciple of Hand class that can provide adventurers with a profitable business and cut down expenses, this FFXIV Alchemist Leveling Guide will help players level as efficiently as possible.

What is Alchemy?

While this trade skill is not as cool as people watch in the Fullmetal series, it is one of the most valuable jobs in FFXIV due to the type of products created from this activity. These craftsmen can develop hundreds of potions and consumables to recover HP and Mana or buff players for their raids.

Alchemists can make money by selling their products and saving money by creating adventuring essentials. Potions made by these craftsmen are essential, especially in the late game stage. People need hundreds of these mixtures for their raids and trials.

How to be an Alchemist?

To be inducted into the Alchemy guild, players will first need to reach level 10 in either Disciple of War or Disciple of Magic. Gamers can do this by simply following the main scenario quests. After getting this milestone, players need to meet the Guild Receptionist at Ul’dah.

The receptionist will give aspiring Alchemists the starting quest “Way of the Alchemist” to talk to the Guild Master, who will officially accept players into the field of Alchemy. Afterward, players can get their first Alchemy gear after finishing the “My First Alembic” quest.

How to Level to 90: FFXIV Alchemist Quests

For Alchemists wanting to speed grind their way up to the max rank for this Disciple of Hand, there are various methods they can use to acquire EXP. Most of the experience for progressing in the early stages comes from quests, levemetes, and crafting. Eventually, players will have to focus more on collectibles and deliveries.

Level 1 to 21

Alchemists will focus more on the quests and getting to the next bracket rather than worrying about their current gear in this early stage of the field. Here are the things that players can do to reach 21 quickly:

Level 70 to 80

In this phase, the leveling process will rely more on the levequests. Other sources such as the Crystarium, Deliveries, and Daily GC Submissions are also available, so players should explore these other options.

  • A Time for Peace (level 70) in The Baldaquin
  • Making Ends Meet (level 72) in The Baldaquin
  • Mindful Medicine (level 76) in The Baldaquin

Level 80 to 90

The final stretch to the max rank is straightforward but tedious. Grand Company Deliveries and Custom Deliveries will provide some of the most consistent sources of Alchemy exp. Meanwhile, Collectibles will give the most significant and essential contributing activity to the progression here, so players will have to take their time to find them. Sharlayan Quests are also an alternative, but since this can only be done once for Disciple of Hand, players should think about which crafting class would need the exp here the most. Here are the levequests available at this phase:

  • Nearly Bare (level 80) in Old Sharlayan
  • Luncheon Bound (level 82) in Old Sharlayan
  • Rebuilding to Code (level 86) in Old Sharlayan
  • Nearly There (level 88) in Old Sharlayan

If players still lack exp, crafting products or items can help fill up the remaining exp needed. Fortunately for players, leveling up in Alchemy is not as tedious as in other crafting classes. However, it will still require effort and time. Hopefully, this FFXIV Alchemist Leveling guide will help aspiring adventurers start their careers as Alchemists.
