Diablo 4's Season 9, Sins of the Horadrim, brings in a new power system with Horadric Powers, giving you an opportunity to create customized spells of your choice using Catalysts, Infusions, and Arcanas. This also comes with a new list of materials to upgrade your gear with. The game provides guidance on where you can obtain all the prerequisite Horadric Powers, but this guide will help streamline the farm.

Best Material Farming Method
Season 9’s Horadric Strongrooms are by far one of the most rewarding activities for this season. Each Horadric Strongroom runs like a fairly standard Nightmare Dungeon, except each start has Horadric Pillars that modify the dungeon’s enemies and difficulties, with more difficult modifiers granting more rewards.
Once you’re inside, you'll need to kill as many monsters in the dungeon as possible to gain as much Attunement as possible, as the final boss for the Horadric Strongroom only spawns if you accumulate enough. You can increase the amount you gain by initiating a Pillar Ritual that, when completed, gives you bonus Attunement.
Defeat the final boss to receive a Grand Horadric Cache. This chest scales to the amount of Attunement you gained during the dungeon. You'll get the following loot from this chest:
- Obducite
- Escalation Sigils
- Horadric Tomes
- Horadric Knowledge
- Horadric Phials
Infernal Horde Farming
The Infernal Hordes game mode is an evergreen source of materials for Season 9. However, the best way to farm this mode is by using Infernal Hordes Compasses with a wave cap of 6 for quicker and easier farming, as it’s less efficient to do 10 waves for slightly higher material yields.
Obtaining Arcana
Since most Catalysts and Infusions are rewarded to you throughout the seasonal questline, but Arcanas are obtained through most endgame modes, Horadric Strongrooms have the best chances to drop Arcanas. While the Grand Horadric Cache rewards you with plenty of materials, you can increase the drop chance of an Arcana by getting as much Attunement as possible during the dungeon.
For the highest Attunement gains, Sacrifice Shrines can be found in the Horadric Strongroom, which drastically increases mob density and, conversely, the amount of Attunement gained during a run.
Note: Arcanas must be manually picked up when dropped since they cannot be auto-looted.
