Best Diablo 4 Season 9 Horadric Strongrooms Guide

Diablo 4 Season 9 Sins of Horadrim has plenty of new content for players to encounter. Horadric Strongrooms are one of them. In these Strongrooms, you'll defeat powerful enemies and overcome obstacles until you reach the final boss. Here's an in-depth guide to help you complete them.

What are Horadric Strongrooms

Horadric Strongrooms are small treasure rooms or micro dungeons accessed through portals in Nightmare Dungeons. You can only encounter Horadric Strongrooms in Nightmare Dungeons and Escalating Nightmares.

How to Find Horadric Strongrooms

Finding and entering a Horadric Strongroom isn't difficult. You first need to find the Horadric Wayfinder. To acquire one, you'll need to complete Briona's first task, which is to clear Eldhaime Keep.

Once acquired, any Nightmare Dungeon or Escalating Nightmare you're in, the Wayfinder will guide you to a Horadric Gateway. After locating the Gateway, activate it, and waves of monsters will spawn that you'll need to defeat. After defeating them, you'll see the Horadric Portal that'll lead you to the Horadric Stronghold. Since it's a timed event, you'll need to come prepared.

There's one thing to note about finding a Horadric Gateway in Nightmare Dungeons. It's not guaranteed, but you can increase your chances by doing the following:

  • Run the game on a higher difficulty
  • Clear the entire Nightmare Dungeon
  • Upgrade your Wayfinder with Horadric Phials
  • Look for Nightmare Sigils with a Horadric Strongroom Affix

Nightmare Dungeons and Escalating Nightmares will only have one Horadric Strongroom each, if they're guaranteed. So, if you want to find more, you'll have to locate other Nightmare Dungeons that have a Nightmare Sigil with a Horadric Strongroom Affix.

How to Complete Horadric Strongrooms

Now that you have access to a Horadric Portal, you can enter it and begin your timed event. Here's how to complete a Horadric Strongroom.

Complete the Initial Pillar Ritual

Once you've entered the Horadric Strongroom, interact with the Horadric Artifact Pillar to start the Pillar Ritual. It will spawn waves of enemies. You'll need to defeat all the waves to grant you the Horadric Attunement. These will boost your final rewards at the end of the event. Completing the Pillar Ritual will also give you a bonus Attunement

Choose a Horadric Statue

After completing the ritual, you'll encounter the Horadric Statues that'll give challenges that affect the Strongroom's Main Chamber. Activating the Statues applies modifiers to you and the enemies in the Chamber. Choosing the right Statues will impact the difficulty and rewards of the enemy encounters. Here are all the Statues and their effects.

Interact with Horadric Artifact Pillars for Attunement Buffs

As much as possible, interact with the Horadric Artifact Pillars that spread throughout the Main Chamber. Stay near them and complete the rituals to gain buffs that increase the Attunement you earn from defeating enemies.

Activate the Sacrifice Shrines

If you want to gain more Attunement, activate the Sacrifice Shrines that are also spread throughout the Main Chamber. These will spawn more enemies for you to defeat.

Defeat the Final Boss

After the time runs out in the Main Chamber, it's time to defeat the Final Boss of the Horadric Strongroom. The Final Boss will take time to defeat, so you'd better come prepared with the necessary items to keep you alive. Once you've defeated the Final Boss, you'll be able to get the Grand Horadric Cache

Horadric Strongrooms Rewards

After defeating the Final Boss of the Horadric Strongroom, you'll be rewarded with a Grand Horadric Cache that will contain various items and materials for completing the Strongroom. There is also the Horadric Cache you can loot in the Main Chamber. Strongrooms are the place where you can get Arcana for your Horadric Spells as well.

One thing to note is that after leaving the Horadric Strongroom, you'll be given the option to select a Horadric Cache. Which relies on how much Horadric Attunement you collected during the monster waves and the Final Boss battle. The higher Attunement you’ve collected, the better the Cache. Completing a Horadric Strongroom will earn you more than 2,000 Horadric Attunements.
