Every map in Call of Duty Zombies has at least one easter egg that ties into the overarching plot of the Aether and Dark Aether storyline. Liberty Falls has its own complex easter egg hunt that requires some friends and a handy guide to pull off. Here’s how to complete the steps for Liberty Falls.
Assembling the Jet Gun
This Wonder Weapon is vital to the easter egg as you need it to suck up certain objects on the map. You’ll need a Water Pressure Gauge, a Handbrake, and some Electrical Wires. You can find these components in the following locations:
- Water Pressure Gauge
- This is found by taking the valve from a water pipe next to a flower shop and placing it into the fire suppression system in the Bowling Alley. Break open the lid and activate the fire suppression system. You need to hold down the button while zombies start spawning. Filling the meter will cause the part to fall out.
- Handbrake
- Summon the Groundskeeper in the Cemetery by killing enough Zombies in the area. After the Groundskeeper is dead, take his key and use it to open the shed and take the Handbrake inside.
- Electrical Wires
- Gather 1250 scrap and use it to craft a Mangler Cannon. Once you have it, go to the electrical store and shoot the shutter gate. The wires should be in one of the pile spots.
With all the parts complete, go to the Motel and look for a workbench. Interact with it to complete the Jet Gun.
Powering the Dark Aether machine
Go to the Church to the right of the Pack-a-Punch machine. This will transport you to the Dark Aether realm. Use the Jet Gun to pull in some of the dark purple orbs scattered on the map. You can find these in the following locations:
- On the balcony near the machine that you just activated
- On the right window of the ‘Buzz’s Cuts.” building. You’ll need to get onto the rooftops in front of the church and jump into the roof of the white truck to see the item.
- In the broken ceiling of the comic store, opposite the stairs going up to Speed Cola.
Now head to the roof of the Bank and interact with the workbench there to assemble the LTG device.
Defend the machine
With the device in hand, return to the machine in the church and take the Aether Cannister from the machine. Be aware that you can’t run while carrying it, so have someone watch your back. Take the canister to your spawn location near the trap and drop it to trigger an aether storm. You will need to defend the device from incoming zombies.
After killing enough zombies, a miniboss will spawn. DO NOT kill the miniboss. Instead, leave it to around 10% of its health and activate the trap. Once it’s trapped, you can now kill the miniboss. After that, take the device back into the machine in the church to receive the Strauss Counter item.
Using the Strauss Counter
You’ll need to find three projector devices on the map. You can find these in the following locations:
- On the grassy hill between the Church and Bowling Alley.
- In the housing area beside the Graveyard.
- On the Yummy Freeze Roof below the Bank Roof.
Once you’re near a projector, hold the special grenade button to pull out the Strauss Counter. The screen on the counter will either be colored Green, Yellow, or Red, which corresponds to the color of the light that the projector needs to show.
- If the screen is Green, interact with the projector until its light turns Red.
- If the screen is Yellow, interact with the projector until its light turns Yellow.
- If the screen is Red, interact with the projector until its light turns Green.
Defend the machine (again)
With all three projectors lit up in the correct colors, beams of purple light will direct you to the next Aether Cannister. Pick it up along with the LTG where you first placed it and run to the graveyard. First, place the Aether Cannister on the trap, which is on the street near the Speed Cola machine. Next, place the LTG on the aether storm in the graveyard and do the exact same thing as the first LTG defense objective, with the same miniboss trapping mechanic. With the second canister filled, return to the church and deposit it on the Dark Aether machine. Don’t activate the machine yet, as this will trigger the final step, so use the downtime to prepare with perks, upgraded PaP weapons, and armor.
Last Encounter
Activating the machine will cause a lot of zombies to spawn, along with two minibosses with a Mangler and an Abomination. Use all your items, scorestreaks, and whatever you have left to clear out the waves and focus your firepower on the minibosses. Once both targets are dead, the game will flat-out kill you. Don’t worry, this marks the end of the easter egg, and you’ll get a nice cutscene for your efforts.
You can always choose to continue playing the round with many rewards in the spawn area. Choosing to leave instead will give you a new Ray Gun skin.
